Now What To Fill Them With?

Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat: Please put a penny in the old man’s hat.. You know how the old saying goes, now it is the season for making all kinds of tarts.

Now What To Fill Them With?

Now What To Fill Them With?

Now What To Fill Them With? When it comes to making Christmas tarts and mince pies, the delightful aroma of freshly baked pastries fills the air, and one question inevitably arises: what to fill the pasty cases with?

So many different ideas. Each and every one I want to make straight away.

These yummy holiday treats offer a canvas for a range of sweet and spiced fillings that capture the essence of the festive season. Mincemeat, a rich mixture of dried fruits, spices, suet, and brandy, is the traditional choice for mince pies. This combination infuses each bite with a complex, warming flavour that perfectly complements the buttery, flaky pastry.

However, Christmas tarts also invite creativity, as you can fill them with a variety of fruit preserves, custard, chocolate, or even a modern twist on the classic mincemeat.

Regardless of your choice, the process of filling these pasty cases is where the magic happens, turning these humble treats into cherished symbols of holiday indulgence and joy.
