My Go To Dress..

Morning everyone?

Wow it was a warm night last night.

Hard work trying to get to sleep.

You know when you wake up feeling like you have a hangover?

Without having an alcoholic drink though?

Well that is how I feel today!!

I read this morning a heat wave is coming...

Best get them old jeans I am planning to up cycle into shorts done!!

Does everybody has a favourite item of clothing they love and wear time and time again?

This is mine.

A maxi dress I picked up in the sale from ASDA around 6 ish years ago.

I love this dress as it always looks nice on, does not need ironing and you can even keep it screwed you as the more messy it is, the better it look.

Teamed up with a brown pair of leopard print shoes with a kitten heel, a scarf necklace and a Cath Kidston London print bag ...

LEGO Lord Of The Rings Pirate Ship : ASDA Direct Review...

The lovely people over at ASDA Direct asked me if I would like to review something from their summer toy selection. My 11 year old son loves to build things with Lego being his favourite toy at the moment. I decided to choose him a nice Lego surprise as he is always helping me out round the house.

I picked him out this LEGO Lord of the Rings Pirate Ship as I know how much he loves watching the films with his big brothers.

Last week, bless him when trying out his new school I got a call from the teachers to say he had been taken to hospital as he had cut his knee and needed stitches. Long story short, he is fine, but with swelling etc needed to stay home from school.

His first day at home, upset and feeling very sorry for himself, a delivery what could it be?  What a lovely surprise and great timing!! It was the Lord of the Rings pirate ship.

When I took it into the room to show him what I had, a great big smile appeared, I knew he had teeth!

A few moments later, he was shuffling himself onto the floor and starting to set up ship!!

Every couple of hours he kept going back to it until he had finished building it. (About 4 hours in total) Which he spread out over 4 days to complete it all.

My son has really enjoyed making The Lord of the Rings Lego pirate ship this week.

He set it up himself with the easy to follow instructions. He only had one mad tantrum when he pushed a piece too hard, breaking the decking. (time for a quick break) He soon got back into it after a rest and some lunch.

About the LEGO Lord Of The Rings Pirate Ship

On the shores of Minas Tirith, Sauron's Mordor Orcs prepare to greet their allies aboard the Pirate Ship ' but all is not as it seems. Pull up alongside them, drop the anchors and lead a surprise attack with Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas Greenleaf and the Army of the Dead.

This majestic Corsair ship features 3 large sails, removable rear section with dungeon and Pirate of Umbar prisoner, firing crossbow and loads of armor and weapons! Capture the Orc catapult and lead the glow-in-the-dark King of the Dead and his soldiers into battle at the War of the Ring!

Includes
  • 9 minifigures with weapons and accessories: Aragorn, Legolas Greenleaf, Gimli, 2 Mordor Orcs, the King of the Dead, 2 Soldiers of the Dead and a Pirate of Umbar.
Price

£89.99

Overall

A great Lego set. Whether fan of LOTR or Pirate ships in general. Well made as you would expect, some of the detail on the mini figures is superb. The ship and all the little extras: catapults, maps, weapons etc. make this a great addition to any Lego fans collection.

ASDAs website sells a wide range of goods including loads of toys. You can have them delivered to home or your nearest store. Which is handy. I had home delivery it was quick and hassle free. Highly recommended.

10ft Trampoline From Asda Direct : Reviewed..

We have been thinking of ideas to help my youngest 2 children be more active. They love going for a run round the block with either myself or husband. Something though that keeps them occupied for a few hours a day, keeping them away from the TV. With that in mind I was so pleased to be asked to road test a 10ft trampoline from Asda direct.

With my husband at work, I asked my teenage son to help me set up the trampoline. I was glad I did. From the start he read all the instructions (unlike me!) and set the trampoline up perfectly.

The instructions are easy to follow and it took us just over an hour to finish. When it came to putting the springs on you definitely need someone with strength, I could only do a few but my son managed to pull them on ok.

I was surprised how big the trampoline is. 10ft is massive certainly big enough for us, (even my hubby fits on it ok). My husband came home just as we had finished setting the trampoline up, and bagged first go.

I think he really enjoyed himself!! in fact we all did. I just wonder what time everyone will be up tomorrow, trying to be first go for a bounce.

What I think of the Asda direct 10 ft trampoline

We had a trampoline about 10 years ago. With moving house we let it go. My how they have come on.

Very easy to set up.

The safety cage is superb.

You do feel that your children are as safe as they can be on a trampoline.

The build quality is excellent and feels really strong.

The biggest selling point though is the price.

A truly superb deal for what you get, it will provide hours of enjoyment for all who are brave enough to give it a go.

Highly recommended.

What Motivates You Today? : What I Wore...

What Motivates You Today?

Me ~ "knowing I've put weight on over Christmas!!"

What I Wore~
Cardigan ~ Primark
Dress ~ Asda
Tights ~ Primark
Boots ~ Longsdale

Can you believe I missed the post man delivering a parcel by 10 minutes yesterday and my parcel had to be collected 24 hours later. A round trip of over 7 miles away!! And to make things worst last night I weighing myself at my mums house last night I realised I had put on 6lbs of weight over Christmas...

So today I combine both, my goal in mind to lose some weight and pick my parcel up. I ran the 7.5 miles trip to the post office, stopping half way to throw a 50 minutes spinning class in-between....Tired out now or what? All done and dusted before lunch was great too. I was just hoping I didn't miss a delivery when I was out !!

So one question What Motivates You Today?

Jeans With A Dress...

Outfit~

Dress ~ Asda

Jeans ~ Primark

Belt ~ Off my Primark skirt

Shoes ~ New Cheeky shoes

Nowadays I find more and more dresses get smaller and smaller, not just in width but in length too. Aww been a busy few day, I really don't know where the time goes? I am happy to be back online though after my computer broke. My husband treated me to a new Chrome net book and I love it, just getting use to the keys now :)

I love this dress and had it years but not got much wear out of it as its not the kind of dress I can wear without anything under. I really like this outfit mixing it up with the pops of red with the belt and shoes.

Now going to try some of my other dresses with jeans to get some wear out of the too, what do you think?

Run Forrest, Run...

Run, Forrest, run! Run, Forrest! -Forrest Gump quote

Outfit-

Dress- George at Asda sale rail at Christmas for £1-00
Belt - Primark
Tights - Matalan
Boots Jonathan James 5-8ish years ago

Those must be comfortable shoes, I bet you could walk all day in shoes like those and not feel a thing. I wish I had shoes like that- Forrest Gump quote

Don't you just hate having to walk or run past a group of collage boys young men, all together? On Fridays when I was on my run I had to run by a group and got  a "run forrest run" from one of them, and they all laughed!!. Ha ha you are so funny,, NOT!!

Today this Forrest is very proud of herself as I ran 13 miles in the snow and slush. Not as many as I should be up to, training for London marathon but its better than my long run attempt yesterday when I came home after 3..

Trying to cut down on the chocolate too, not going to bad but early days yet...

"My mama always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get"-
Forrest Gump quote

Reminds me not watched Forrest Gump in ages...

George/ASDA's Back to School 'Little Designers' Challenge ...

The team from George at Asda asked me if I would like to take part in a Back to School 'Little Designers' Challenge. I am always up for something different so said "count me in". A challenge that involves one of my children makes it all the better.

'CHOSEN BY MUMS; TESTED BY KIDS; GUARANTEED BY GEORGE’

The challenge is for my son who has to get creative in personalising his very own back pack they provided. It sounded great as an added bonus one of the lucky mums will win £150 worth of ASDA vouchers (and the runner up as well as the blog with the most comments winning a £50 ASDA voucher) Hint Hint!!

Also I got to choose around £20-00 worth of school necessities from George school uniform   just for taking part in the challenge. An additional £20 ASDA Voucher is sent to mum’s who aren’t lucky enough to scoop one of the top 3 prizes as a thank you for our efforts in participating,so this was a win win situation..

I was so pleased that I managed to buy the full school uniform for £20-50 as my son was in the bigger size for everything (being younger you would get the same things well under £20-00 such a bargain)!!

I got 2 school polo Shirts
1 jumper
1 pair of trousers
and a pair of shoes all for £20-50...

Asda have a great range of back to school uniform at fantastic price and the great thing is you can buy on line or in store or both depending which you prefer.

The Olympics may be over for the minute, however in our house its like a mini Olympics everyday. Although that's sometimes just navigating the kids bedrooms!!. I have 4 children and they all love to sport. Sport is something we do most days and the kids love keeping both themselves and me fit.

With this in mind here is my sons design....

Drum roll please ...

I love my sons bag and he is very pleased with it too.He can't wait to take it to school with his PE kit in...

Obviously this post might only be available for so long as the International Olympic Committee do not like people using their Olympic rings in anything,so we shall await the lawyers letter. My son is only 9 and he is not going to sell the bag or use it for commercial gain,it might inspire him to be an Olympian, so please do not be too hard on him Mr Rogge.!

About this post-we were lucky to be asked by Asda to take part in this great competition and was sent all the above school uniform and a creative pack for my son to make his bag.I was not paid for this post and all thoughts are my own honest opinion.

Update we did not win the best bag or most comments prize,we did however get sent a £20-00 Asda voucher to spend instore which was lovely of them ...
