A Stylish New Bathroom..

Now that my children are no longer babies and growing up fast, I am planning a new and stylish family bathroom. Getting away from a child friendly safe bathroom to something more grown up, modern, and fashionable.

Recently I have been introduced to Bella Bathrooms. They sell a wide range of beautiful products from updating your bathroom accessories to buying a whole bathroom suite.

I would love to go with the black and white monochrome look, for a stylish and elegant edge...

Happiness is a long hot bubble bath...
I am thinking how nice this hand crafted free standing bath would look!?!... With a glossy tiled floor and white satin walls..

Price: £278.60

"The main part of the house is a deep red and I have butterscotch carpet. And I have a bathroom with leopard skin floor, wallpaper and toilet" 'Macy Gray'

This ultra design black back to wall unit and toilet (Price: £230.10) and below Ultra Black Floor Mounted 2 Door Vanity Unit 600mm (Price: £286.98) would fit perfectly with the bathroom.

"If I want to be alone, some place I can write, I can read, I can pray, I can cry, I can do whatever I want - I go to the bathroom" 'Alicia Keys'

"There was a point in my 40s when I went into the bathroom with a bottle of wine, locked the door, and said, 'I'm not coming out until I can totally accept the way that I look right now"   'Sharon Stone'

This traditional Marquis heated towel rail in chrome and black would look lovely against the white satin walls and match the chrome on the taps and shower. Price: £318.50

To finish the whole look off, a few accessories :

"I'd rather be able to face myself in the bathroom mirror than be rich and famous"   'Ani DiFranco'

A HiB Lynk bathroom mirror with glass shelf  Price: £140.40

"As a kid, I'd go into the bathroom when I was having a tantrum. I'd be in the bathroom crying, studying myself in the mirror. I was preparing for future roles" 'Adam Sandler'

A Croydex black foam soap dispenser Price: £10.28

"My kids always perceived the bathroom as a place where you wait it out until all the groceries are unloaded from the car"   'Erma Bombeck'

HiB Nero Chrome Spotlights Price: £110.64

Before I can save up for my super stylish bathroom I have to sort our en-suite out first. The shower cubical that everyone in the house uses!! It is getting old, leaking and the shower door is coming away!!

"For marriage to be a success, every woman and every man should have her and his own bathroom. The end"  'Catherine Zeta-Jones'

Premier Pacific single sliding shower door with optional side panel Price: £173.39

What do you think of my picks?

Its Starting To Look A Bit Like Christmas... A perfect Christmas day

Although we plan all year round.

Christmas really starts in our house on the 1st of December.

The kids get dressed up and we set up the tree and decorations.

Over the next few days the children then draw up a Santa wish list.

Thinking of all the things they hope to get for Christmas.

Then off to Santa to deliver the letter.

They then hope that a few of the items appear Christmas morning under the tree.

Having 4 children it is like a party everyday in our house, Christmas day, being the King of party days!

The kids love the pressies I love having the family together, my hubby loves a couple days off work..

One thing we all agree on and love is Christmas dinner..

This was last year...mmm cannot wait.

One other thing the children want for Christmas is snow!

The perfect Christmas day for me will be having my eldest son back home from University and making the most of having all 4 children home together....

Here is our Perfect Christmas 24 hour diary.

( Based on actual events from past 19yrs)

12.01 am ~

Santa delivers all presents into the room!

1 am ~

Me and husband finally get to bed, but missed Santa?!?!

2 am~

Hubby wakes up keeps checking doors windows locked.

3 am~

At least one child awakes. Tuck back in, too early yet do not disturb Santa.

4 am~

Another child awakes, Excited to max. Allowed to open quick present off Auntie or Uncle. Keeps them happy off to noddy land for a while.

5 am ~

All kids awake, all deny they woke up first, all deny they woke anyone else up.
Ok then all up check Santa's sherry drunk carrot for reindeer eaten.

6.am ~

Living room door open squeals, shrieks, minutes of shaking Santa has been!!

7 am~

All corners of room taken up by one of our children's presents. No one allowed there or else!!

8 am~

Quick breakfast washed down with tin of chocolates and mince pie. (not the whole tin).

9 am~

Phone up Grand parents Aunts Uncles Brothers Sisters Friends. Hope they had a lie in, and have had a nice morning.

10 am~

Realise Turkey is not in oven, quickly dash to start it off.

11 am~

First argument of day someone has pinched batteries from one toy for another.

12 am~

Hubby weakens and opens bottle of beer. I have quick egg nog finish all veg.

1 pm~

Turkey cooking table set, Sure husband just swears as he has another toy to build! Glad I bought him that tool belt!!!

2 pm~

A toy that only costs £2-50 is most played with toy all day. Wish I had known...

3 pm~

Queens speech done. Everyone at table, crackers pulled, wine opened enough to feed the 5000 on plate. Top button of jeans undone.

4 pm~

No one forthcoming for pots, so roll sleeves up and count to 10. A few chocs soften the blow.

5 pm~

First visitors arrive, greetings all round, Kids still more energy than the Duracell bunny.

6 pm~

Find hubby having nap tip water on head soon wakes up!! It is tea time after all . Sandwiches, crisps, cheese and crackers, and cold turkey all round.

7 pm~

Kids starting to flag, finally say thank you for everything. Want a big hug.

8 pm~

At least one child has called it a night. Phew nearly time for a rest.

9 pm~

All kids finally worn out, take a toy to bed, fall asleep holding it.

10 pm~

Visitors all leave big hugs and kisses all-round.

11 pm~

Visit Blackpool Competition...

Move over Neil Buchanan there is a new girl lady in town!!

If you read my blog you will have guessed we all love Blackpool ( if your visiting for the first time hit the Blackpool tags below, to see some of the fun times we have had!! ).

When I first met my husband we had our first holiday in Blackpool. We have been here every year since, spending honeymoons pregnancies and arguments!! with the locals...  The ever present backdrop of the Tower, Three piers, Rides and Mooky evokes a special place in all my families hearts..
Sometimes I think I surf the Internet without even reading?  As yesterday a page I had seen before  (and obviously not taken in) I noticed the Tots100 are holding a competition to become a Blackpool Ambassador It ends tomorrow!! How have I not seen this before ? Wake up Claire!!

Quick thinking I put the gym on hold, to think of a way to make a Blackpool tower ( sorry kids, you were at school, we can make one at the weekend) So I share my love of shoes to come up with my love for Blackpool and here it is..

Not sure which picture is best? you can decide for me:)

This post was like a workout at the gym, lifting shoes down from my bedroom = (weight)
Running up and down stairs every time for a birds eye view = (treadmill run)

George/ASDA's Back to School 'Little Designers' Challenge ...

The team from George at Asda asked me if I would like to take part in a Back to School 'Little Designers' Challenge. I am always up for something different so said "count me in". A challenge that involves one of my children makes it all the better.

The challenge is for my son who has to get creative in personalising his very own back pack they provided. It sounded great as an added bonus one of the lucky mums will win £150 worth of ASDA vouchers (and the runner up as well as the blog with the most comments winning a £50 ASDA voucher) Hint Hint!!

Also I got to choose around £20-00 worth of school necessities from George school uniform just for taking part in the challenge. An additional £20 ASDA Voucher is sent to mum’s who aren’t lucky enough to scoop one of the top 3 prizes as a thank you for our efforts in participating,so this was a win win situation..
I was so pleased that I managed to buy the full school uniform for £20-50 as my son was in the bigger size for everything (being younger you would get the same things well under £20-00 such a bargain)!!

I got-

  • 2 school polo Shirts
  • 1 jumper
  • 1 pair of trousers
  • and a pair of shoes all for £20-50...

Asda have a great range of back to school uniform at fantastic price and the great thing is you can buy on line or in store or both depending which you prefer.

The Olympics may be over for the minute, however in our house its like a mini Olympics everyday. Although that's sometimes just navigating the kids bedrooms!!. I have 4 children and they all love to sport. Sport is something we do most days and the kids love keeping both themselves and me fit.

With this in mind here is my sons design....

Drum roll please ...

I love my sons bag and he is very pleased with it too.He can't wait to take it to school with his PE kit in...

Obviously this post might only be available for so long as the International Olympic Committee do not like people using their Olympic rings in anything,so we shall await the lawyers letter. My son is only 9 and he is not going to sell the bag or use it for commercial gain,it might inspire him to be an Olympian, so please do not be too hard on him Mr Rogge.!

About this post-we were lucky to be asked by Asda to take part in this great competition and was sent all the above school uniform and a creative pack for my son to make his bag.I was not paid for this post and all thoughts are my own honest opinion.

Update we did not win the best bag or most comments prize,we did however get sent a £20-00 Asda voucher to spend instore which was lovely of them ...

The lovely people over at Travel Supermarket asked me if I would like to join in with a fantastic competition that they are running. They say a picture paints a thousand words. Well, rather than asking us to write a five thousand word blog post,They are inviting us to produce a blog post with up to 5 photos that really do 'Capture the Colour'.

They are offering the winner £2000 to spend on travel and the five runners up an iPad each! so there are some amazing prizes up for grab's if your lucky enough to win...

All you have to do is on your blog post, post 5 pictures that captures the following 5 colours - Blue, Green, Yellow, White and Red tell them where the photo was taken and try to include any other additional information about the moment the photo was taken, what you could see, smell, hear, feel and perhaps a witty caption about that photo or trip in general. If you've written a post about that trip on your blog in the past, be sure to link to it so people can find out more!

Easy yeh? Here is my entry...

Blue....I love this picture that my husband took on his phone the last time I did a race. This was a lovely route and only about 5-6 miles long. This race distance is great.... did you hear my husband booked us a marathon in about 9 weeks time! I remember passing this feeling great and on top of the world well near as it is the highest man made point in Nottinghamshire...

Green- we when to Matlock baths for the day and guess what it rained nearly all the time we were there. One good thing was nobody was around so we got some amazing pictures.

Yellow- Even though I didn't get around to posting these pictures till May this was took in April and I remember thinking it's going to be an amazing hot summer!! Thankfully it was late in coming but has been lovely since the kids broke up from school...

White -These first trip to the beech this year and how white and yummy does this ice cream look. This was a amazing day finished of with an amazing Ice Cream ...

Red- This has to be one of my favourite picture,I love everything about this one it's fun, bright, and shows my sons personality off.We took this in London last week just before the Olympics started London 2012

School Run Style...

The lovely people at Best British Bloggers got in touch with me about a school run style bloggers competition that going on over at Joe Browns website.

They are giving bloggers who are mums the opportunity to win £250 worth of Joe Browns gift vouchers. All you have to do is create an outfit from the styles on Joe Brown website and blog about it.

They have lots of beautiful dresses and tunics in and it was hard narrowing it down to one set but here is the outfit I have chosen.

As the weather is very changeable a jacket is always great to have to hand.I think this looks great for dressing up and down.

Polka dots make me pop!!

I love, love, love polka dots and flowers are my next favourite pattern so this looks fabulous...

One can never have to many jeans and as these are called awesome fit jean then these sound perfect....

Best Of British Espadrilles- I would never say no to red shoes. These look great not to high and not to low...

So what do you think? do you love my school run style as much as I do?
