Creative Thursday....



This is the last ever Creative Thursday posted today and we will re-posted next Thursday lasting for 10 day though out the Christmas Holidays.We love this hop so much we have decide to change it to Creative Mondays.Starting from Monday 2nd January 2012 each Monday the hop will be started and the linky will be open until Sunday night so you have all week to pop back and link up with us

This week I've been making Christmas Cupcakes....


Ingredients

115g Butter at room Temperature

115g Caster sugar

115g Self raising flower

2 Eggs

1 Tablespoon milk

2 Eggs

Few drops green food colouring

Few drops orange extracts

For icing

200g Soft cheese spread

300g Icing sugar

Half a teaspoon orange extract

1 Tablespoon of milk

Few drops of green food colouring

Christmas sprinkles

Method

1.) Pre-heat oven to 190c

2.) Place 12 muffin cases in a muffin backing tray

3.) Put the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl and beat until light and fluffy

4.) Add  a little flour then one egg at a time will a little flour added to each then mix the remaining flour in.Add the milk food colouring and orange extracts

5.) Place the mixture into the muffin cases and cook for around 20  minutes until well risen

6.) Leave to cool completely

7.)  Beat the cheese spread and the icing sugar together until all mixed in

8.)  Add the milk,food colouring and orange extract and mix well

9.) Place in a icing bag and swirl around the buns

10.) Add sprinkles and place in refrigerator to set....

Party pasta salad

Great for party's or large family's...


What you need...


500g uncooked pasta

1 large cucumber

4 large tomatoes

3 small red onions

8-10 tbsp Mayonnaise

Salt and pepper to taste

Method


Cook the pasta as directed on the packet,once cooked place in a sieve and leave to cool.

Chop the cucumber,tomatoes and onions into small cubes and place in fridge.

Once the pasta is cold add to vegetables and add mayonnaise salt and pepper and mix well.

Leave in fridge until your ready to eat...

My Children love Christmas and always do their rooms up to welcome Santa here every year.What a surprise their rooms was and they made them all by themselves well with a little help from a big brother...

Me and my kids love cooking especially around Christmas time this week we've been making these really easy treats which always get eaten first...

Chocolate Marshmallows...


You will need

150g Milk chocolate cooking chocolate.

20 Marshmallows

20 Mini bun cases

Sprinkles

Method...

Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pan of simmering water until all chocolate has melted.

Remove from heat.

Leave to cool slightly then dip the marshmallows in the chocolate by placing on a cocktail stick until all covered then place on some greaseproof paper.

Sprinkle the sugar sprinkle over straight away.

Leave to cool.

Once cool place them in the small bun cases.

Any chocolate left over drip onto some greaseproof paper and sprinkle to make little sweets.

Once set these just peel of the paper...



Also been making Krispies buns...


Makes 35

You will need

300g milk Chocolate cooking chocolate.

100g White cooking chocolate.

200g Rice Krispies

35 paper bun cases.

Method

Melt the milk chocolate cooking chocolate in a bowl over a pan of simmering water.

Remove once all chocolate is melted.

Add the Rice Krispies straight away and place into bun cases.

Melt the white chocolate in a microwave and swirl over the buns.

Leave to cool.

This week Judy came up with a great idea that we could share pictures of decorations, recipes, and anything to do with Thanksgiving.Also you can link anything else that has got you creative this week.The hop is open till next Wednesday so plenty of time to come back and link up and we always welcome new theme idea...

INGREDIENTS

125g butter

125g caster sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

150g self raising flour

4 tbsp milk

400ml double cream

METHOD

Serves: 12

1.Preheat the oven to 200C,gas mark 6.

2.Cream together the butter and sugar until creamy and pale. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs with the vanilla. Whisk into the butter and sugar mix.

3.Sift half the flour in, and fold. Then add the milk and mix in well. Fold in the other half of the sifted flour.

4.Spoon into the paper cases and put into the oven for about 15 - 20 mins until golden and crisp on top.
5.When cool cut off the peck and cut into 2 put the cream into the hole and add the two wings.
6.Sieve a little icing sugar over for effect....

Creative Thursday #Week5

Warm Smarties Cookies...

Why is it sometimes the easiest recipes taste the nicest...


Makes 18 small cookies...

What you need...

100g (4 oz) Margarine

75g (3 oz) Soft brown sugar

2 tbsp Syrup

175g (6oz) Self raising flour

 100g (4oz) Smarties or m&m chocolates

2 tbsp Milk

What to do ...

1.) Heat the oven to 180c,350f or gas mark 4.

2.) Grease 2 baking trays.


3.) Beat the margarine until soft add the sugar then mix until all creamed together.


4.) Mix with a spoon the flour,syrup,smarties milk and beat together.


5.) Place 18 spoonfuls of the mixture onto the trays.


6.) Bake for 10 minutes .


7.) Take from the oven and light press down with a flat fish slice and remove from the tray to cool.


8.) Leave to cool ....but great whilst still warm...

Creative Thursday #Week 4...

Hello and welcome to Creative Thursday....

 
This is a creative blog hop where you can add all your home made creative projects from making cakes to needle craft and you can add as many links as you like...
 
So one question ...What have you been making ?
 
 I tried these Tuna Melts in a pub for lunch and they are so nice I just had to try and make them...
                                               



What you need

4 slices of thick cut bread.

Small tin of  tuna.

2 tbsp  of mayonnaise.

Salt and pepper.

Strong grated cheese.

Chopped spring onions and paprika if you like...

What to do.

1.pre-heat oven to 180c

2. Cut your bread into chunky slices grill for a little while.

3.Drain the tin of  then in a bowl add the tuna,mayonnaise,spring onions salt and pepper.

4.Spread evenly over your bread and add the strong grated cheese and sprinkle a little paprika.(if liked)

5.Cook for5-8 minutes under a over/grill until cheese starts to bubble


Just need a little more cheese and a grill but they still tastes great ...also made these up with part bake bread instead of slice bread...

Creative Thursday #week 3...

Hello and welcome to Creative Thursday....


This is a creative blog hop where you can add all your home made creative projects from making cakes to needle craft and you can add as many links as you like...
So one question ...What have you been making ?

Quick And Easy French Bread Pizza...




What you need...

1 french bread

1 tbsp virgin olive oil

2 piece of garlic crushed

1 onion chopped finely

300g of sieved tomatoes

1 tbs of tomatoes puree

Mixed herbs

salt and pepper

sliced cheese

What to do.

1.) Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees.

2.) Heat your olive oil in a pan over a medium heat and fry your chopped onions and crushed garlic until cooked.

3.) Add your sieved tomatoes to the pan then add your mixed herbs 1 tbs or to your taste,a  pinch of salt and pepper and tomatoes puree.

4.) Leave the sauce to simmer for about 7 minutes.

5.) Cut the french bread long ways in half then into suitable size pieces,and arrange on a tray crust sides down.

6.) Spoon equally amounts of the sauce onto the bread and lay the sliced cheese onto the pizza (as much or as little you like)

7.)Put into the oven for around 6-10 minutes until the cheese turns brown

8.) cool slightly and enjoy...

With the kids being off this week my 14 year old son has been making lots of cakes these are some yummy milk chocolate icing buns he made us this week...


What you need...

For the cupcakes....

12 muffin cases

125g soft butter

125g sugar

125g plain flour

2 eggs

half a teaspoon bicarbonate of soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the icing...

250g sieved icing sugar

60g margarine

1 tbsp cocoa powder

3 tbsp hot milk

1 tsp vanilla essence

Method

1.) pre-heat the oven to 200 c/gas mark 6 and place 12 muffin cases in a muffin tray.

2.)Mix the butter and sugar together.

3.) Add the eggs one at a time adding a little flour .

4.)Fold in the rest of the flour and add the,bicarbonate of soda,baking powder and vanilla extract.

5.) Place the mixture into the paper cases and bake for around 15-20 minutes until a golden colour.Place on a wire rack leave until cold.

To make the icing....

1.)Melt the margarine,blend in cocoa,then stir in the icing sugar,milk and vanilla essence.

2.) beat well until smooth and thick then add to the cold cakes .

3.) leave until set...

Creative Thursday #Week 1...


24 Halloween Cupcakes...


For the cupcakes you will need...

24 paper cases.
230g /8 oz self-raising flour.
2 tsp baking powder.
230g/8 oz butter or soft margarine.
230g/8 oz caster sugar.
4 eggs.
finely grated rind from a orange.
4 tbsp milk

For the topping you will need....


170g/6 oz butter
350g butter.
2 tbsp orange juice.
2 drops red food colouring.
2 drops yellow food colouring.
24 spooky sweets.

1. Pre-heat oven to 180 c 350 f and put 24 paper cases 2 cupcake trays.

2 Squeeze the orange juice in a bowl and save for later,then grate the orange rind into finely pieces.

3. Sift the flour,baking powder and sugar in a large bowl and add the butter,eggs milk and orange rind beat together until all mixed in nicely.

4.Spoon the mixture evenly between the 24 paper cases and bake for around 20 minutes until well risen and golden brown.

5.Place on a wire rack and leave until cold.

Making the icing...


1. Beat the butter until soft and sift the icing sugar into the bowl and add the orange juice and food colourings,beat well until light and fluffy.

2. place in a piping bag with a star end and swirl around the cakes when all 24 are finished place a sweet on top.Leave to chill for a while if the butter icing goes a little soft when handling....

These cakes taste great only one problem I can't find orange food colouring anywhere so I made my own but it did look slightly light any ideas how to make a brighter orange any one? please : )
