Get Fit Or Eat Pie Trying Week # 4

Last week as been such hard work think I have wore myself out a little or got run down with a cold. I did manage to get 2 good rep sessions at the running club and my first race for a long time on Saturday the first ever Parkrun with open here. Although they don't encourage it as being a race I was pleased with my time @ 7.54 average pace per mile, here is my 5K summery-

This week not only did we get the marathon numbers through the post that we have decied not to do also our letter from the people at London Marathon came through to tell me if I had a place...

Get Fit Or Eat Pie Trying # Week 2....

For me its Get Fit Or Eat Pie Trying "
Goals -A under 2 hour half marathon 

A under 50 minutes 10k

And if I do get in London-just to be able to run a marathon!!

Was very pleased with last weeks training I put my training on Dailymile and last weeks I had ran 38 miles as well as a few exercise classes.

This weeks exercise was-

Friday- Rest day not had a day off for 9 days so need this.

Saturday -  Just under 3 miles -eek weekend and I had a few glasses of wine Friday night and didn't want to run...

Sunday - 8 miles was tough on my own early but kept on running

Monday - 7 mile run  fast for me at 9.15 pace and 1 mile cool down at 12 mins

Tuesday - 45 minutes spin class ( first time back in 3 months)
                45 minutes fit ball class ( first time back in 3 months)
              6 and half miles warm up/reps at running club/cool down

Wednesday - 3 miles recovery run
                      1 hour weights class
                      just under 4 miles in afternoon

Thursday - body combat class
                  Half mile swim

Been a busy week and my arms and stomach mussels are killing " No Pain No Gain " springs to mind

Get Fit Or Eat Pie Trying # Week 1....

For me its Get Fit Or Eat Pie Trying "
After the kids being off for six weeks my training has started to get better it's so much like hard work trying to get fit with 4 kids off school.We booked a marathon but didn't get chance over the holiday to get the miles in so now my goals have changed again I am now training for this year -

A under 2 hour half marathon  
A under 50 minutes 10k 
And if I do get in London-just to be able to run a marathon!!
This week I have had time to start back with my training-

Friday- 3 miles run on the treadmill + half mile swim
Saturday - 9 miles run

Sunday - 3 and half miles run

Monday - 7 mile run + 3 miles treamill run in afternoon

Tuesday - 5 miles reps + warm up/cool down

Wednesday - 1 hour weight class + 6 miles run

Thursday - 5 miles warm up,reps and cool down

Loving having time to exercise...

Working Out With The Davina Range At next Week 5.......

This is the last week of the Getting fit with the Davina range at next and wow how quicky it has gone. I have really enjoyed being a part of this challenge and 5 weeks have just flown by.These were the 3 items I got to try were...

The item I loved the most from the 3 items I got to road test was the trainers.They are so comfy and great for Zumba ! I even took them for a long walk on Monday around London on a day out with the children...

Now I know I'm not going to make it to the Olympics 2012 this year on my training but the last few weeks have got me back into exercise.

This weeks exercise was-


3 miles run
Zumba class


1 mile run with kids


7 miles run


2 miles run
Davina Dvd


Walking all day around London with kids


Kids games on X- Box


Kids games on X- Box
  have joined a gym,started Zumba,box-fit,spinning and not even counted the 3 miles I have to walk each school days,swimming and playing sporty games on the X-Box with the kids..

Over the 5 week's I have

Ran 91 miles
Atteneded 5 Box-Fit classes
4 Zumba classes
 Zumba and Davina DVDs
2 Gym workouts and
1 spinning class...

Only 3 lb lost but when I put my jeans on for a day out to London they were loose.I just have to chuck the biscuit tin away because the more I exersice the more I reach for them..

My plans this year are-

  • To lose some weight
  • To Get a 50 min sub 10k
  • To get as fit as I can but over the last few weeks it has been hard with getting poorly and the snow holding me up.
Been hard to find time to exersice with the kids of school this week...

4 weeks have already gone by and I though this was the last week of working out with the Davina range at next but no I still have one more week left to try and lose some weight. How quickly has this month gone? I have had a fun/packed/tiring/ month fitting as much exercise as possible.

Working Out With The Davina Range At Next....

My new years resolution didn't actually start on the 1st January as I had planned.It was cold and very windy and just too hard to get myself back out running after a lazy month of not much exercise and eating to excess over Christmas. The husband under my feet and four children still off school did not help either!!

Fitness Fridays...

Well it has been a while since I wrote my Fitness Friday post .

3 weeks now :( .....

I have still been exercising but not as much as I would have liked to.

Running is feeling hard again but I think it maybe because -
  1.  I went all out last month and ran over 200 .
  2. Maybe I pushed myself to hard in the first cross country and ran my fastest ever mile @7-33 pace and had to stop half way with really painful stitch and then quit because the pain was unbearable to run with.
  3. Not been out and done much running this month as it seams to be really hard effort.Only on 73 miles for the month is a big drop from last month.
  4. Or it could be I'm really feeling sorry for myself....

Either way I'm starting a fresh tomorrow,why does everything start tomorrow and not today with me!!!!

This weeks plans are:
  1. Starting to get my mileage back up.
  2. X-training on my bike.
  3. Core exercises.
  4. Get some races booked.
Here are my plans but with the kids of will I manage to get them done?

The last weeks training was:
  • Saturday 7 miles with hill reps included.
  • Sunday day off.
  • Monday 4 mile run.
  • Tuesday 13 mile bike.
  • Tuesday 7 miles running club with hill reps.
  • Wednesday day off.
  • Thursday 8 miles with 12*400 meter sprints included.
  • Friday day off.

Fitness Fridays....

What a month it has been I've ran in the cold, light rain, heavy rain, warmth, wind and now red hot weather. Typical September then!?

Been out with friends and family helping me along what seams to have been a very fast month all helping me along to reach my 200 miles challenge.

Today I completed it on the last day of the month 201 miles of running done.

Fitness Friday....

Been a busy week in training and just uploaded the last few day's training to find out I'm on 154 miles for the month so on target for my 200 miles in a month challenge.


After falling over last week and having a rest day Friday. I am feeling great about running again .

My friend has been coming out with me and encouraging me which as been great and I only have 46 miles to do in the next 7 days which looks achievable.

Having said that my running is going great.

I have join in a 200 miles challenge on Dailymile and my mileage is going good I have clocked up 99 miles in the first 14 days leaving me 101 for the last 16 day.

When All Plans Go Out The Window.....Keep On Running....

First day back to school for all my kids today and I can go running for however long I want and what does it do ....RAIN...

I love to run in the rain but today it was so heavy at on stage it hurt my face but with my 200 miles challenge I had to go.

Fitness Fridays...

This week has been tough I have that feeling that I do not want to run or do no exercise but looking back on my training it's not been a bad week.

 I need a boost to get my mind feeling more positive,I think the 7 weeks school holiday are starting to tell on me now.

Sunshine On A Rainy Day...

This month I have decided not to take part in the 3-in-30 challenge as with the kids off school, routine as gone out the window. I am still getting time to keep my running up so Fitness Friday is still here.
