Fruit Smoothies..

Getting the children to have more fruit is a lot easier and quicker in smoothies, we have made this one a few times and they love it, me too ...

 Serves 3


  • 200g Chopped Pineapple
  • 200g Strawberries
  • 3 Kiwi
  • 3 Oranges
  • 100g Water
  • 100g Pineapple juice


  1. Take the pineapple, kiwi and oranges out of their skins, hull the strawberries and chop all the fruit up.
  2. Place the fruit, water and pineapple juice in a smoothie maker.
  3. 30 seconds on mix, 30 seconds on smooth.
  4. Sever straight away.
  5. Yum!!

Only just over a week left of the holiday, I still have school shoes, trainers and p.e kits to shop for. Has everyone else got what they need for back to school?

Strawberry Orangeade Rockets ...

Makes 12

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 5 minutes
 Freezing time: overnight

  • 1 orange
  • 2 lemons
  • 100g (4oz) caster sugar
  • 300ml (1/2 pint) water
  • 225g (8oz) strawberries, hulled

  • Pare the coloured rind from the orange and lemons with a swivel bladed vegetable peeler.
  • Halve the fruits and squeeze the juice.
  • Add the rind to a saucepan with the sugar and water.
  • Heat until the sugar has dissolved then simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Leave to cool then stir in the fruit juices and strain the syrup.
  • Purée the strawberries in a liquidiser with 2 tablespoons of the syrup then sieve.
  • Pour into the base of the lolly moulds and freeze for about 30 minutes until solid.
  • Press the lolly sticks into frozen berry base.
  • Pour the orangeade into the lolly moulds and freeze until solid.
  • When ready to serve, dip lolly moulds briefly in warm water then lift out of moulds and serve.

Orange, Avocado and Pineapple Juice Smoothie ...

I love anything with avocados in it at the minute and smoothies are so much fun to make...
Serves 1


  • 2 Small avocados
  • 1 Orange
  • 150 ml Pineapple Juice from concentrated
  • Handful or 2 of crushed ice


  1. Slice the avocado in half ,twist and take the stone out and slice.
  2. Peel the orange ,slice and take any pips out.
  3. Place all ingredients into a smoothie maker and set speed to 30 seconds on mix then 30 seconds on smooth.
  4. Serve straight away.

Creative Mondays Blog Hop Week 4 : Blackberries And Clementine Crumble....


Serves 6

  • 250g Blackberries
  • 1 Clementine peeled 
  • 1 Clementine juiced
  • 1 tsp Muscavado  sugar

For crumble
  • 100g Self raising flour
  • 50g Margarine
  • 50g Muscavado  sugar

  •  Pre-heat oven to between 180 -190c depending on oven,lightly grease 6 ramekins.
  • Wash the blackberries and place in a bowl with the peeled Clementine, juice of a Clementine and teaspoon of sugar until ready to use.
  • Spoon equal amounts  into six small oven-proof ramekins and spoon a little juice into each.

  • In a large mixing bowl sieve the self raising flour and rub in the butter until all mixed in, then add the muscavado sugar and stir well.
  • Add on top of the fruit pots.
  • Place In the pre-heated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and fruit is cooked.
  • Serve warm with fresh cream,custard or ice-cream.

Fruity Cocktail Trifles....

Me and my husband love trifles and I would say 

These are the best I've made so far!!

So yummy...

Makes 4


  • 1 pack strawberry Jelly ( that make 1 pint of jelly)
  • 8 Trifle sponge fingers
  • 4 Clementine juiced
  • 411g Tin of Fruit Cocktail
  • 1 Pint of home made custard (made up)
  • 4 Clementines pealed and separated
  • 250 ml Double cream
  • 4 Chocolates chunks


  • Make up jelly by putting broken jelly pieces into a jug and adding half a pint of boiling water, stir until all jelly has melted.
  • Squeeze 4 clementines, sieve the juice and stir into the jelly, make up to 1 pint of liquid with water leave for a while to cool.
  • Place the fruit cocktail into a sieve and drain all juice from the fruit (if not the jelly will not set properly) pick out 4 cherries and set aside for the top.
  • Break a trifle sponge for each into 4 and place at the bottom of the tall glass, divide the fruit cocktail into all 4 glasses then repeat with the 2nd trifle sponge.
  • Now the jelly should have cooled tip over the fruit and sponges evenly into 4 glasses.
  • Place in a refrigerator until completely set.
  • Make up 1 pint of custard according to custard packet and set aside to cool and set.
  • Once everything is completely set add the custard to the 4 glasses.
  • Peel the clementines removing any pips and place one on top of each trifle around the outside of the custard.

  • Place the cream in a bowl and whisk until thick and creamy.
  • Spoon onto the clementines.
  • Grate the chocolates with a fine nutmeg grater and sprinkle onto each placing the saved cherries in the middle.

  • Yummmmmmmyyyyy!!!!!!!!!

Orange Soufflé...


  • 110g Caster Sugar, plus 1 tablespoon extra
  • 45g Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Flour
  • 250ml Milk
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla Essence
  • 4 Egg Yolks
  • 2 tablespoons Orange Liqueur (Cointreau or Grand Marnier)
  • 5 Egg Whites
  • Sifted Icing Sugar, to dust


  • Preheat oven to 220°C or 200°C fan.
  • Grease 6 individual ovenproof soufflé dishes.
  • Sprinkle bases and sides with extra sugar.
  • Shake out excess.
  • Melt butter in a small saucepan on high heat.
  • Add flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • Remove from heat and whisk in milk until smooth.
  • Stir in sugar, vanilla and ¼ teaspoon salt.
  • Cook on low heat for 10 minutes, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.
  • Cool.
  • Whisk in yolks and liqueur.
  • Using an electric beater, beat egg whites until firm peaks form.
  • Fold egg whites gently through yolk mixture.
  • Pour into prepared dishes and bake for 7 minutes.
  • Dust with icing sugar and serve immediately.

innocent Fruit Juice:The big knit...

For the past 8 years, innocent’s smoothie bottles have been raising money to keep old people warm in winter with the Big Knit campaign. You can visit the website they suport over at Age UK

All you have to do to get involved is get creative with their little woolly hats in their Hat Tag Game.

Simply take a photo of of anything you like hold the hat between your finger's near the camera and make it look like the subject is wearing the hat and take a snap of the picture. It can be people,pets,buildings or even a photo of picture of someone famous.

When you've got the perfect picture pop over to their Facebook page where you can upload your picture to the Hat Tag gallery and every picture that gets uploaded they will be donating 10p to Age UK. Every week people can vote online for their favourite picture and with each vote the will give another 5p to Age UK and the winner each week will get a case of smoothies also they be announcing the ultimate Hat Tag winner at the beginning of December, and they will win £500 worth of Amazon vouchers to help them with their Christmas shopping.
