On Saturday mornings we like to travel around different parts of Nottinghamshire and beyond. Finding somewhere fun for our morning family runs. When my husband has a morning off work that is!
We love to try out different Parkrun courses. We are really lucky to have a variety of Parkrun's that we can go to. This way we never get fed up just going to the same one. Some are flat and fast, some hilly, all challenging!!
On Saturday morning we can all decide if we want to run through the woods, run up hills or try and get a new PB.
A few weeks ago my Husband found us a new one to try out. Gedling Country Park. We all love this one but it is very challenging. Two long hills and one really short steep hill. Wow though, when not gasping for breath, What lovely views.
My Daughter woke up feeling poorly. She wrapped herself up and said she was not doing Parkrun.
Does this look the face of someone poorly or someone who did not want to run up the hills? Lol.
Somehow once the race was done, she felt loads better. Think she wanted to stop with her big Brother who was home from Uni that day. She enjoyed cheering us on instead.
Yesterday my youngest two children both ran Parkrun and both got PB's.
My son knocked half a minute of his and daughter a whole minute!
They are both doing great with their running. I need to up my game now. My son is already around 8 minutes quicker than me over this distance but my daughter is just behind me. Only a few more weeks and I will be the slowest in our family...
Me and Mollie have been getting out running loads this week. Yesterday she ran her first ever Parkrun. She was great. She ran on the lead nicely at the side of me and just kept running. The only times she looked around was to see where my daughter was.
She even had a sprint finish when she seen my son at the end shouting her on.
Me, my youngest son and daughter ran it. It was so warm at 9 oclock and we all worked hard. Especially my daughter as she got a pb. She ran around with her dad, so he could encourage her on. When I had done the race I waited for her to finish so I could cheer her on. Not to far behind me this week too.
I rushed over and gave her a big hug but she was feeling a little sick as she had sprinted to the end..
No shiny new Parkrun PB for me yesterday. Not only was it cold and very windy I got my worst 5KM race time in years. A personal best was not out the question in the wind for some though. My son got one! He did amazing...
