Up-Cycled Jewellery/Trinket Box..

This has to be my favourite upcycled/recycled/crafty project to date.

A box I had some scarf's delivered in...

Cover in some Cath Kidson red polka dot material, ribbon, sticky pretend diamond jewels some paper flowers, red buttons and glue.

It did start off as a jewellery box for my daughter..

But now is proudly in my hallway as a trinket box...

On my New Shoe Cabinet...

Share-In-Style : Favourite Print....

This weeks theme over on Miss Papelicos Share-In-Style (on Mondays) blog hop is favourite print.

My favourite has to be...

 Polka Dots...

I love Polka Dots...

 My daughter love polka dots...

Even got my husband a few polka dot shirts and he wears them...

These photos were taken in the ladies powder room at a hotel we stayed in for our holidays..

My daughter loved this room and thought it was a cool place to go...

I use to own lots of polka dot dresses...

One by one they have wore away, got to big or old and tipped so I sent them to be recycled...

I even washed this one with an orange t-shirt and now has a peachy glow!!

So I'm on the hunt for a nice new red and white polka dot dress...

Any ideas?

Coat Hanger Jewellery Organiser...

Yeah summer is here and it is time to get those pretty necklaces and sunglasses out...

Do You have anywhere to put them?

No?

Why not make some Coat Hanger Jewellery Organiser?

I now have somewhere cool to keep all my fun sunglasses..

What you need-
  • Wooden coat hangers ( I picked a pack of 3 up from the pound shop).
  • Mod podge.
  • Red glitter.
  • Old pot and brush for mixing glitter and glue.
  • Strong glue.
  • 12 various sized heart buttons.
  • 3 heart tags.
  • Polka dot ribbon.

What to do-
  • In an old pot mix some mod podge glue with the red glitter (enough to cover 3 hangers).
  • Paint the glitter glue all over the front of the 3 coat hangers and leave to dry.
  • Cut pieces of ribbon and make them into bows.
  • With strong glue stick bows on to the heart tags.
  • Once coat hangers are dry place heart tags over the top of the coat hangers and glue on the backs of the hearts, to hold the tags into place.
  • With the strong glue, stick heart buttons on.

What do you think?

Now I can find my sunglasses, necklaces and scarf's...

Mother’s Day Treats With Boden...

I love polka dots, my daughter loves polka dots. We all love polka dots!!...

Anytime we see anything with polka dots on it, we shout each other to come and see!! You could say we are both polka dot mad!! With that in mind I was delighted to be asked if my daughter and myself would like to pick a treat for Mothers day from Boden.

After looking through some Mothers Day ideas, I noticed this polka dot coat for my daughter. I knew she would love it. The jacket is beautiful, warm and very cosy. It comes in 3 great colours~ strawberry split, bright green and harbour blue spot.  My daughter picked the strawberry split one straight away. We chose the 11-12 years size. It fits beautifully. (I would say it is true fit to size as this is the size I usually go for.)

Priced at (Was £34.00 to £38.00 ) on sale now (24/03/2014) at  £27.20 to £30.40

I picked a lovely Rainy day-Mac, perfect for the April showers. The famous Rainy Day Mac is updated with new spots, and they also sell it in solid colours and a sensational multi-print. These are all shower resistant too which is great. Especially with all the rain we have had the last few months. The rainy day mac is a very flattering style, a beautiful fit, which is true to size, and very high quality.

Price (Was £119.00 ) now on sale at £107.10 (24/03/2014).

We had a fun morning posing in front of the camera and my 10 year old taking our pictures. When we pose together it always involves lots of hearts being made and lots of kisses being blown... A perfect day in my book!!

Can't wait for mothers day now, I want lots of love, kisses, and to be taken out in style with my beautiful new jacket on... Possibly something else from the Boden line would be most welcome as well (hint hint) in case my hubby or children are reading!!

About this post-

Me and my daughter got to choose something for a mothers day treat. We picked these beautiful jackets. All thoughts on the jackets are my honest opinion and I was not paid for this review...

Up-Cycled!! : New Year New Shoes...

I have been planning to up cycle some of my shoes and clothing for months now. Things that I have had a long time and never worn, clothes I have brought that are too big/small for me not sure what to do with them.

Most of my unwanted used clothes I give to charity but unworn shoes that are the wrong colour or a little boring and clothes that I brought new and are too small or too big for me and never got taken back to the shop are all mixed in my wardrobe never to be shown daylight again.

Not now, new year and new me!

On my to do list~
  •  Things I plan to do that never gets done, DO!
  • Up cycle things to make something new and fun from items you will never wear!

Ever thing I use to up cycle these shoes, I had in to!!

Result new sparkly polka dot fun shoes at no cost!!

These shoes I purchased years ago in the sale but the pale green colour never really went with anything I wore and the front to the toes looked such a long way down.

Glue, red glitter, different ribbons and a few hours being held together with pegs and here are my new shoes...

What do you think?

Do you up-cycle?

Now all I need is my husband to take me on a date night "cough cough" so I have somewhere to show them off ;)

I have now posted the Up-cycled shoes tutorial here

Irregular Choice,Anniversary And Share Your Style Saturdays Blog Hop...

Yesterday it was our 17th wedding Anniversary and my husband took me out for lots of treats in Nottingham.

We went shopping, out for lunch to  Maysum an all you can buffet restaurant and my he brought me some amazing polka dot and flowers shoes. I have been a big fan of Irregular Choice shoes for years now but never owned a pair!!

 (until now!!)

I am usually like a kid in a sweet shop when it comes to Irregular Choice shoes, I don't just want one pair ( I want them all ) so walk away with none :( .

I end up leaving it and spend my money on new running trainers.

So yesterday I stuck to my plan of having some shoes thats been on my wishlist for years and I love them :)

On with the blog hop...

Upcycled : New Peg Bag...

Arr don't you just hate it when you keep leaving something that really winds you up? silly little things that really bug you but you do nothing to make it better?

One thing that has really been bugging me all through the summer holidays is the hole in my Peg bag!!

It really wound me up every time you put the washing out, grab one peg and 5 fall out with the hole in the bottom. Pick 5 up and 3 more fall out, before you know it there all over the garden so you walk off and leave them, haha... Looking back I should have put a peg on it!!

I was going to sew it, though it is getting old and faded I decided to make a new one.

I brought this dress earlier this year from the  car boot sale. I love polka dots and really love this dress but when your buying a bargain you forget your allergic to Nylon!! so after a hour of wearing my hands went numb.

I cut the top off, turned it inside out and did a few rows of sewing to make sure no pegs get out along the bottom and sewn inside the sleeves to make sure none escape here too!!

A little top stitching down the sides and added a coat hanger, Yeah I love my new peg bag...

Now I have something fun planned to make with the material from the skirt and a big wooden basket, that's when I  find some spare time :)

Going Dotty For Cotton...

Outfit~
Headband ~ Primark
Shirt ~ F and F Tesco
Skirt ~ Primark
Shoes ~ Crocs
Trying to wear more cotton as the hotter days are not good for me wearing polyester clothing as I am allergic to it. This outfit is perfect being 100% cotton, just what the doctor ordered!!.
What is it when you see a cute little dress in the sale at a great price makes you forget your allergic to something? Maybe its just me with an eye for a bargain but I have lots of clothes I cant wear during the summer months.
Its not too great when it comes to running everything suitable for exercise is polyester or a form of polyester, sports bra, sock and mostly legging. I have managed to buy a few new 100% cotton tops for running which I am very pleased with...

This one is from the sweater shop and I have it in red white and blue, not sure the writing is to clear for running though as my friend thought it said I <3 plumbing!!

Also my son brought me this one on his 19th birthday which I thought was so sweet of him to buy me something on his birthday!!

Also have my eye on this little number for the Robin Hood Half Marathon, think it might be to predictable?

What are you loving in the summer?

Mine is anything cotton!!
