What I Wore : A Day In The Park...

What I wore~

Orange strip top - H & M
Mickey top - Primark
Jeans - Abercrombie and Fitch

The weather has been fabulous over the last few weeks. The Easter holidays have been amazing, jam packed full doing exciting things. I have lots of photos to share but finding time to go through them is hard work. Today all 3 children are back to school and I am just chilling on the sofa, Worn out and reflecting on all the things we have crammed in over the holidays. (oh and waiting for the boiler man to fix our boiler! eek no hot water for 6 days!! ) My kettle will need replacing next with how many times I've had to boil it. This is the 2nd wasp that has come out of the attic, whilst he is mending the pipes. Please, please do not say there is any more! :(

I can not wait to get back into full training, now the marathon has come and gone so quickly. Once my blisters are all better !! Yes I decided to try and get in London marathon next year and I am in the ballot. Chances are I wont get in again, but I would really like to try and give all the things I learnt in the first 2 year a try out for the 3rd time.

These pictures were taking in a park in London over the holidays, aren't the spring buds stunning?

On Saturday will be co-hosting a Share-in-Style blog hop with Mis Papelicos and the theme is accessories, it would be great if you stop by and share your lovely outfit posts with us?

Home Made Easter Bonnet...

My daughter has been waiting patiently over the last few weeks to wear her Easter bonnet. Pictured above she was so excited to get it made up. We decorated this hat in no time at all and then saved it until Easter for her to dress up in. Now we have lots of other crafty bit to finish off quickly today for Easter Sunday. Easter baskets, glittery eggs and Easter cakes to name just a few.

Don't you just love the pound shops? We always find something crafty and cheap in these shops. Everything above was only a pound each, the little sets of nest and the set of chicks all from the pound shops apart from the ribbon. I picked up this sweet lemon reel up from Lidl but still only £1.00 a roll.

What you need-
  • A Easter hat
  • Some ribbon
  • Little Easter chickens
  • Little Easter nest
  • Coloured feathers ( I picked ours off a fancy scarf, picked up at the £1.00 shop!)
  • Strong glue

What to do-
  • Measure a nice big length of ribbon, enough to go around the hat and to tie a nice big bow up.
  • Glue the ribbon to hold in place.
  • Leave to dry.
  • Make a pattern you like with some of the nests and chicks.
  • Glue in place.
  • Leave to dry.
  • Easy eh!!

All ready now for the Easter egg hunt tomorrow...

London Marathon Countdown : 1 Day To Go...

It's on!!

I have decided to do the London marathon and here is some pictures of us picking up my number.

My youngest 2 writing me a good luck message on the the boost message wall.

Top left-

Look who I bumped into at the Expo collecting my marathon number. Hugh Jones first British winner of the London marathon in 82. Legend. ..

Top Right-

Eventually got a photo with Stephen Kiprotich current World and Olympic marathon champion. After everyone kept passing me their phones for me to take pictures for them.

Bottom-

Watching an interview with Stephen, wow he only has a cup pf tea, banana, some bread and a bottle of water before his race!! Mind you he will be having lunch when I'm half way around.

A girl can dream, right!?!

But i know this one can do anything he dreams of..

On Sunday I will be running just over 26 miles, my family are all guessing, if I complete it and how long.

I'm hoping for 4 hours and 59 minutes..

Want to guess?

What I Wore : Into The Green

Yeah the fog has gone, the rain has stopped and the sun is shining :)

About time too!!

With a mad busy week planned, and lots of outside adventures to do, it is lovely to see the sunshine out. Over the next few days I have a big decision to make. To do or not to do London marathon? Being injured, ill or injured over the last few months I still have only 1 14 miles run under my belt.

So do I run the marathon with my phone, enjoy it, walk, run, eat, drink, run take pictures and selfie or defer it till next year?

On well we will see.. watch this space...

Stars Are Coming Out Tonight : Up-cycled!!

Another up cycle project ... love these and I am so proud of designing them, haha!

Who in the world has a pair of jeans like this eh?

Original idea I made up along the way.

My son gave me a pair of jeans, I picked him these up from Jack and Jones a few years ago in the sale, The colour was just not for him so he never wore them.

He told me to put them in the charity bag but a brand new pair of jeans that had never been wore, was just a waste... Yes!?

With my son being over 6 foot tall, the were to long for me. I love the colour, so I thought they would look good as 3/4 jeans.

Cutting them down I came up with an idea, that lead to another...

Then the star jeans were created...

Do You Still Have Dreams?

Happy Mother's day to all the mums out there, hope your all having a lovely day...

It's great being a mum and getting spoilt once a year by you kids :)

My children brought me lots of yummy chocolates, a swimming cap and goggles (for after I've eaten my choc's?) to help me learn to swim better instead of only doing breast stroke and hurting my neck..

My son is home from university for a month and I had forgotten how much he eats!! feeding 5 of us is a big shop twice a week but 6!! haha no stop shopping and filling the fridge back up...

I know he is on a mission to help me get fit, help encourage me with my running, swimming, fitness and watching my biscuit and cake obsession, who knows I could be fitter in a month!?!

Yesterday we had a lovely lazy Saturday. The little 2 did not fancy going to far away as it was lovely and warm. So off to the park we went. Taking about what the had been dreaming about my 10 year old son asked me " mum do you still have dreams?" "How old am" I replied? "I'm not to old to dream!!"

Then he asked "But what do you dream about"

Trying to think em, "our old house when you were small, my old house when I was growing up," em "I can't quite think off hand"..

Then he replied " is it posing, selfies and blogging idea?

Haha you have to laugh, err maybe son, but I can't remember??!!"

I Want To Ride My Bicycle...

I really do not feel like running at the minute. Since tiring myself out with a 14 miles run a week and half ago, I've not ran. This marathon I am training up for is really playing with my mind. Only 2 weeks on Sunday until the big day. I will be glad when it is over!!

Today my husband took me out on a bike ride, I had forgot how good it is going out on the bikes. We had a fun ride to Newstead Abbey and took some lovely picture. Wow it was lovely and warm, so it was a big shock when we came home and seen the snow falling!! luckily it only stayed 5 minutes...

Clap Along If You know What Happiness Is To You...

"It might seem crazy what I'm about to say"
"Sunshine she's here, you can take away"

Question~

What do you do when your feeling tired and unwell, it is raining, your carrying your daughters shopping bags through a busy part of London, after your son has been ages looking and buying goodies from the Arsenal shop and all your husband is doing is winding you up taking picture???

Answer~

Sing and dance in the street to the song Happy by Pharrell Williams and embarrass them all!!!

Sure did the trick...

Mother’s Day Treats With Boden...

I love polka dots, my daughter loves polka dots. We all love polka dots!!...

Anytime we see anything with polka dots on it, we shout each other to come and see!! You could say we are both polka dot mad!! With that in mind I was delighted to be asked if my daughter and myself would like to pick a treat for Mothers day from Boden.

After looking through some Mothers Day ideas, I noticed this polka dot coat for my daughter. I knew she would love it. The jacket is beautiful, warm and very cosy. It comes in 3 great colours~ strawberry split, bright green and harbour blue spot.  My daughter picked the strawberry split one straight away. We chose the 11-12 years size. It fits beautifully. (I would say it is true fit to size as this is the size I usually go for.)

Priced at (Was £34.00 to £38.00 ) on sale now (24/03/2014) at  £27.20 to £30.40

I picked a lovely Rainy day-Mac, perfect for the April showers. The famous Rainy Day Mac is updated with new spots, and they also sell it in solid colours and a sensational multi-print. These are all shower resistant too which is great. Especially with all the rain we have had the last few months. The rainy day mac is a very flattering style, a beautiful fit, which is true to size, and very high quality.

Price (Was £119.00 ) now on sale at £107.10 (24/03/2014).

We had a fun morning posing in front of the camera and my 10 year old taking our pictures. When we pose together it always involves lots of hearts being made and lots of kisses being blown... A perfect day in my book!!

Can't wait for mothers day now, I want lots of love, kisses, and to be taken out in style with my beautiful new jacket on... Possibly something else from the Boden line would be most welcome as well (hint hint) in case my hubby or children are reading!!

About this post-

Me and my daughter got to choose something for a mothers day treat. We picked these beautiful jackets. All thoughts on the jackets are my honest opinion and I was not paid for this review...
