My Perfect Christmas Dinner with Family Outfit...

A few weeks ago Marisota asked me if I would like to style some clothes for the perfect event this Christmas. I love a nights out, shopping trips and visiting family and the best day of the year for me is Christmas day. I love to spend this day with all my beautiful family. Our eldest son home from university, the children all home together. Perfect. My favourite day of the whole year.

My Perfect Christmas Day would go something like this...

All kids awake, all deny they woke up first, all deny they woke anyone else up. Ok then all up check Santa's sherry drunk carrot for reindeer eaten. Living room door open squeals, shrieks, minutes of shaking Santa has been!!All corners of room taken up by one of our children's presents. Quick breakfast washed down with tin of chocolates and mince pie. (not the whole tin).

Phone up family, wish them a Happy Christmas. Hope they had a lie in, and have had a nice morning.

Quick check all presents have been opened. Me and daughter get dressed up, nice dress the more sparkles the better. Glittery shoes or this year sandals on and a little bit of ruby red lipstick. Remember Turkey is not in oven, quickly dash to start it off.

A glass of wine for the cook when making dinner, perfect start to the day. Big dinner with all the trimming, eek.. Brussels sprouts all-round!! A few hours later it is time to eat again, grandma and granddad is coming for tea...

11 Tips On Buying And Wearing The Perfect Christmas Jumper...

I love Christmas novelty jumpers.

We all love Christmas jumpers.

Every year me and the children have to have a new novelty Jumper. Something festive, something fun, something to celebrate Christmas. Not yet convinced the hubby to wear one, but all the rest of us love them.

My 2nd eldest son was first off the mark this year, as he had a jumper delivered last week. Getting ready for December and 'Christmas jumper Friday'.

Last year I was sorting all the children out and forgot to buy the fun and cheery one I loved until the middle of December. Great my favourite jumper had sold out !! the only ones I could find were two sizes too small or two sizes too big!! In the end I went for the larger sized one..( It made me look thin when I took it off!) Remember this one?

When New Look offered to gift me my favourite Christmas jumper I was over the moon, a chance to get my hand on a jumper I love nice and early.

With only one small question, which style to go for!?!

I picked this Pale Blue Sequin Santa Christmas Jumper...

How sweet is this one!?!

With the lovely Santa on it ..

About my New Look Christmas jumper~
  • Sequin Santa design
  • Breathable woven fabric
  •  Simple long sleeves
  •  Rounded neck
  • Casual fit
  • Cuffed hem
  • £24.99

11 Top Tips On Buying And Wearing The Perfect Christmas Jumper...
  1. Buy nice and early!?! November is perfect. Before your favourite designs or sizes sell out!
  2. Have a spare morning visiting the shops. Take a good look at all your favourite shops and see which styles, colour, pattern you like.
  3. Not got time to shop? Open up all new windows of your favourite shops on the internet, type in the search box 'Christmas jumper' and the page will show you all the Christmas jumpers they sell.
  4. Think of what colour jeans/trouser/leggings/skirts you already own so you can match your jumper up to.
  5. Search Christmas jumpers on Google and see what jumpers people have been wearing, with which style bottoms.
  6. Think of where you will be wearing it to get an idea of how to dress it up. Party's? Home? Work?School? Shopping? Days out? Walk in the park? Pub? Cinema? Meal out?
  7. Which pattern and style will you really like to wear all December? Santa? Animals? Snowflakes? Christmas trees? Christmas pudding? Rudolph? Snowman? Tree lights? Penguin? Advent? Elf? Gingerbread man? Holly? just to name a few ideas, lol...
  8. Wear it as early as you like. Make it look like a different outfit by styling it with different  clothes~ jeans, legging, skirts ...Get the most wear out of it this year before January when it will be time to pack it away for next year.
  9. Do not get carried away! It is so easy to buy lots.. they are so sweet. {If I had money, I would buy them all}...
  10. Have fun and enjoy wearing it, this is what they are all about...
  11.  Have a 'Christmas jumper Friday' at home throughout December, invite friends round, make mince pies and drink Sherry!...Yummy, now this sounds great... Cheers...

Too Hot For Jumpers, Too Cold For T-shirts!!

You know when it is too hot for jumpers, and too cold for t-shirts!?!

Yes?

Well that!!

It has been so mild over the last few days, not that I'm complaining, I am really hoping the cold weather stays away until we can find someone to mend our gas boiler!!

Off to do some shopping in Nottingham at the weekend I decided to wear a nice warm jumper for the mile walk to the train station as it was a bit fresh.

Only thing is the trains/shops/shopping centres are so nice and warm...

You have to keep taking the jumper off then keep putting it on again...

How To Wear Posh Wellies : Over 40 Style...

With a heart patterned dress, a chunky warm cosy cape and some bright yellow tights...

I wore this outfit in the school holidays on a trip to Meadowhall for a meal out at Frankie and Benny's.

Initially we planned a nice day out shopping and looking for Christmas Ideas, but unfortunately our Gas boiler has broken and it put a bit of a damper on the day and a cap on spending any money.

This outfit cheered me up though, loving my new posh wellies and they went together great with my bright yellow tights.

The morning before our day out, a man can to give us a quote on how much it would be to fix our boiler.

He said he couldn't mend it and we need a new boiler putting in.

Asking how much it would cost to fit one he said 'I will pop down later with a quote'.

Nearly a week later still no quote...

Makes me wonder~Do people ever keep their word? Who can you trust? Do people care when you have a family to keep warm and clean? Do people want work?

They have forecast -4 degrees weather this week, hopefully not or I will be walking around the house in these boots to keep warm.

Fingers crossed we find someone decent this week, who can help..

I am loving these posh wellies from Lotus shoes.

They feel high quality and fit true to size.

They feel nice and comfortable to wear.

I wore them all around Meadowhall today with my boot socks on and they felt great. Would I have wore ordinary wellies around Meadowhall!?! No,,, but these are posh ones and felt very stylish.

Not only glamorous and fashionable but most importantantly to me, very comfortable.

Perfect for cold, rain and snowy weather too!

These boots will be great for winter.

These will style up great with skinny jeans and chunky jumpers for a nice casual look on Autumn walks.

Love them as much as me?
