    They are just so stately, aren't they?We have Sandhill Cranes here too – – – which are their "cousins" I believe, but the Great Blue, though slightly smaller than old Sandy, is much more stately.

    Oh my god, this is really strange! I took a picture of this same bird in same pose in london zoo. Got told he isn't part of the zoo but makes his way over from Regents Park (where he actually belongs) when its the penguins feeding time lol. I'll tweet it and share it with you. Claire Louise.     Herons are great to photograph. I see some everyday on my walk – and am amazed at how they stand still for hours. Or so it seems. I love the reflection!
