Sherwood Forest: Country Kids And Getting Outdoors

Sherwood Forest: Country Kids And Getting Outdoors. Hello friends, so how are you today?

We have had a fun packed week as the kids and even hubby were off school and work for half term holidays. Double busy, even when the weather was not great. The best day of the week was Monday, we tried to make the most of it.

Sherwood Forest: Country Kids And Getting Outdoors

Sherwood Forest: Country Kids And Getting Outdoors:

On Monday we went to visit Sherwood Forest in Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire. The weather was amazing for the time of year and the sun was shining brightly. Not like the rest of the week, as mentioned, which was dull and rainy.

We wanted somewhere to go where we could spend a good few hours, which was also puppy friendly. Somewhere we could wear the puppy out and the children too. We knew this might be the best day of the week, so somewhere outdoors it was!!

Sherwood Forest was a perfect choice. The children loved running around, playing on the parks and in the woods. All the while taking in all the sights and sounds of mother nature. Mollie enjoyed sniffing around at all the new smells. Here are some more photos from out day:

Spring Is Just Around The Corner: Motivational Monday. Firstly, I love this time of year for spotting signs of Spring. Don’t you? It really cheers me up. I just love to see the burst of colour, everywhere. Spring Is Just Around The Corner: Motivational Monday. So pretty.

Spring Is Almost Here!! Secondly, It has been a long time since last spring and I lost 2 precious things last year so winter seemed long and depressing. Spring for me is like a new start to a new season and who better to take on my walks with me than my sweet fur baby boy, Murphy!! Spring Is Almost Here!! Murphy is so adorable.

Thirdly, Chesterfield Crooked Spire In Springtime: Over 40 Style. We went to Chesterfield last weekend. In the spring, I enjoy seeing the Crooked Spire. The most of the pink blossom has passed us by, and the daffodils are beginning to fade, but it is still lovely in bloom. This is also a very famous church to visit. From the magnificent doors to the stained glass windows to the spire itself, there is something for everyone. I’ve always wanted to take a tour inside. Perhaps when they re-open!?

I know a number of my readers have given me notes over the years about how they’ve moved away from Chesterfield or how they used to visit on a regular basis and appreciated seeing the images, so I thought I’d share some more this Spring. So, what do you think of my Crooked Spire photos in Chesterfield? Chesterfield Crooked Spire In Springtime: Over 40 Style.

A Flying Visit Too The Science Museum:

A Flying Visit Too The Science Museum. Ha!! See what I did there!? Fourthly, Flying Visit Too The Science Museum? Happy Monday friends. After lock-down one, before lock-down two, we managed a few one nights away in London. When rain stops play in London, visit one of the many museums 😃👍👌. A Flying Visit Too The Science Museum.

A Walk Around Sherwood Forest: Land Of Robin Hood. Fifth, yesterday it was such a beautiful day. The sun was shining, sky was blue and doesn’t the warmer weather make you feel better? I have been ill all week with a horrible cough, maybe brought on with the weather turning cold again.

Today I am sharing some photos from ‘A Walk Around Sherwood Forest’ with you. These photos were taken before the snow arrived. A Walk Around Sherwood Forest: Land Of Robin Hood:
We took a lovely family walk around Sherwood forest in Nottinghamshire. A selfie with The Major Oak anyone? Bless, he is looking old now! Have you ever been to Sherwood Forest before? A Walk Around Sherwood Forest: Land Of Robin Hood. So lovely here.

Did You See:

Red And Black Polka Dot Shirt From The Charity Shop. Last week on my mum, daughter and my shopping trip, I picked up this blouse in the charity shop. After all the polka dot colours items of clothing I own, I didn’t own anything red. Until last Thursday when I picked up this top and a red and black long polka dot dress too. Well big dots, anyway. This fits perfectly as it was a size 12. Red And Black Polka Dot Shirt From The Charity Shop.

Nottingham Christmas Market Over The Years. Hello friends. Happy Friday. Today I am sharing some photo’s from Christmas in Nottingham over the years as nothing much is happening around here at the minute. Flashback Friday? Nottingham Christmas Market Over The Years.

How To Wear Spring Dresses When It’s Not That Warm. So, how are you doing on this chilly, windy Sunday? Although spring has arrived months ago, when will the pleasant spring weather arrive? It’s been so cold lately, and don’t even get me started on how much rain we’ve gotten! Because the sun makes me so joyful, you can imagine how grouchy I’ve been!

I haven’t allowed the chilly and gloomy weather keep me from wearing my favourite outfits. I’m currently obsessed with maxi dresses, and this spring dress from Marks & Spencer that I bought a few years ago is one of my favourites. So, how have I been wearing my dresses when it hasn’t been really hot? How To Wear Spring Dresses When It’s Not That Warm.

I love that there is a playground and the trail sounds so much fun. Those trees are so big!!!!! I love forests and I love Robin Hood. It's so cool that the forest plays on this and makes it really interactive. Such beautiful photos as well. Your shots of the trees are really stunning. How cool, I love the little playground challenge and the trees are fantastic for climbing, as your two clearly seem to know! I love the size of the old trees, does one of them have supports to hold up the branches? It looks like a fantastic place to burn off some steam. Fab that they have actors dressed up for the parts too, that would be so much fun! Thanks so much for linking up to #Whatevertheweather 🙂 x

That's terrific that you're able to bring your dog as well! There are so many things we'd like to do as a family where the dog isn't welcome which means having another outing later in the day so she can get some exercise. Fitting one outing a day around the 1-year old's naps and mealtimes is hard enough! This looks like great fun on a beautiful day. #busydoinglife

There is actually a Sherwood Forest!?!? What???? I seriously did not know this. And the pictures are really good, too. I've seriously never had England very high on my must-travel to list, but this definitely just bumped it way up. What else have I not known???
