Walk Around Newstead Abbey Clocking Up 10 Miles

Days out in Nottinghamshire

Walk Around Newstead Abbey. A few weeks ago when the children were off school and the Husband was off work we took a train ride to Newstead in Nottinghamshire. We love to take a walk around here. It is such a beautiful part of Nottinghamshire. Also, very near by!

So we got off the train and had a walk around Newstead through to Newstead Abbey.  With a spot of sightseeing along the way. So much to see.

Walk Around Newstead Abbey:

Newstead train station. How cool. Also, nice and quiet here too.

This is the station we got off at to start our walk.

The Old Station Hotel:

Firstly, The Old Station Hotel at Newstead in the background, all bordered up. It is a shame as it looks like it would be a lovely local pub to have a drink in.

Horses Playing In The Field:

Secondly, we stopped for a while to watch the horses playing. So fun to walk them playing. Love seeing the horse. They are so sweet.

Walk Around Newstead Abbey All Good Fun:

Thirdly, the walk to Newstead Abbey. My Daughter sharing out a few treats to keep our energy levels up. Not too long of a walk and then we arrive at Newstead Abbey.

Walk Around Newstead Abbey:

The waterfall, such a beautiful spot. I wonder what the story is behind these beautiful left roses at the top of the waterfall!? I like to make my own story up, all good, of course. A couple in love, maybe?

Perfect spot for photos, I bet a wedding photo shoot would be perfect here on a nice warm day.

We had lots of fun looking at the waterfall too.

You can also walk behind it.

We always have to take a behind waterfall photo!

We were walking for hours and the children had a well-earned sit-down. I wonder what they are talking about? Something interesting!

Mollie doesn’t like to rest though, she might miss something!

She would walk all day if we could keep up with her.

Days out in Nottinghamshire

After a long walk around Newsted Abbey, we headed home. It was a long walk, we clocked up 10 miles on our fitbits and were tired out!

It did not feel like 10 miles when you have lots to see and are having fun.

Have you ever visited Newstead Abbey in Nottinghamshire before? Did you enjoy our walk, too?

I love the look of your day out. the photos are gorgeous and it looks like such an interesting area to explore. 10 out of 10 for getting the kids out, I know how tricky it can be as they get older but this looks well worth it with just enough natural beauty to keep them engaged. I love the photo of you behind the Waterfall and clearly a good place to visit with Mollie. Thank you for sharing with me on #CountryKids

Amazing how far you can walk without realizing it. Looks like an interesting walk. Fun spotting things that you would totally miss from a car. #CountryKids
