I love to dress up my table. I think a well-dressed table sets off the whole kitchen.
It makes it look a lot better and brighter.
Cosy and homely too.
Inviting may be the right word!?
I would love to have a cupboard full of pots and plates but you do not always need lots. I only have 2 sets of plates/sides/ bowls and cups. Also a lot of oddments! I still love to change them around and mix and match other things.
Here are a few ideas on how I dress my table:
10 Tips To Create A Beautiful Tablescape For All Occasions:
1.) Over The Weekends Add Pretty Flowers:
Add colourful seasonal flowers.
Fresh cut flowers always look good in the middle of your table.
Not too high though, or you may not see the person sitting opposite you!!
Coloured roses are my favourite flowers.
2.) For Entertaining:
Plenty of drinking glasses and tumblers.
Different size ones look good.
Some for water, spirits and not forgetting some for wine.
3.) Every Day:
Set your table up for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Big plates with a smaller one on top, then I add my bowls on top of them to finish the look off nicely.
A nice big bowl of fresh fruit to get a good start to the day.
Encourage the children to eat some for breakfast and pick out their favourite for lunch boxes.
5.) Fancy a change?:
Make your own tablecloths.
It is cheaper to make your own and so easy to make.
As long as you have a sewing machine. I love making my own.
This way I get one with the right pattern, colour and it will fit perfectly.
Also if you like to show your table a little, make a few different table runner.
