Crafting the perfect summer fruit smoothie involves a vibrant medley of fruits that encapsulate the essence of the season.

Start with a base of ripe and juicy berries such as strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries, which not only infuse the smoothie with a burst of sweetness but also contribute antioxidants and vitamins.

Add in chunks of succulent mango for a tropical flair, introducing a luscious and creamy texture.

The inclusion of pineapple lends a refreshing tanginess, complementing the overall flavour profile.

Watermelon, with its high water content, not only hydrates but also imparts a subtly sweet undertone.

To balance the sweetness, consider incorporating citrus fruits like oranges or lemons, providing a zesty kick that invigorates the palate.

A handful of fresh mint leaves adds a touch of herbal freshness, elevating the sensory experience.

For an extra nutritional boost, toss in a handful of spinach or kale, seamlessly integrating green goodness into the mix.

Finally, the addition of a frozen banana lends a creamy consistency and natural sweetness, ensuring a satisfyingly smooth texture.

Blended together, this diverse selection of summer fruits creates a harmonious symphony of flavours, textures, and nutritional benefits, making the summer fruit smoothie a deliciously revitalising treat for the warm and sunny days.

I do like an occasional smoothie although I do find that they can be quite expensive in terms of a refreshing drink if you are not careful (regardless of whether the freezer door is left open or not!!) I know they may be good for you but sometimes a nice cold glass of water is just as refreshing.

Thank you Tam, I know what you mean. Sometimes I would like a lot of different things in mine but as you say, they can run expensive..
