We all love to visit Bakewell in the Derbyshire Dales district of Derbyshire, England. it is such a lovely town. We like to walk around the shops and then take off into the peaks for a spot of climbing. Fish and chips are a must plus a nice Bakewell tart for pudding.

Over the River Wye, Bakewell’s iconic stone bridge serves as the backdrop for this heartwarming tradition. Couples from near and far visit this idyllic spot to attach padlocks adorned with their initials, inscriptions, or messages of love to the bridge’s railings. As they secure their lock, I wonder what they do with the keys? Do they keep them?

We love Bakewell and Lots of people love Bakewell too. They lock all their love up here too. How romantic? I think the love lock that keeps popping up all over bridges are sweet. They seal their commitment to one another, creating lasting memories in this enchanting, historic town.

Locking In Your Love On The Bridge. Couples locking their love together. Such a sweet idea. Sometimes I wonder what the stories are behind the locks? Are the couple who put the love locks here still together? Still in love? Still happy? Married, engaged, have children, or parted ways? Ha!

I wonder if any have come back and taken them off? Mad with or a partner or forgotten they were put on.

I also wonder where people will put the locks when the bridge is full? When we first went to Bakewell we started to notice a few locks appear now the bridge is getting so full. So much love going around!! How romantic?

Love Locks In Bakewell. If you are not from the UK you may have heard of Bakewell as it is well known for its unique and delicious Bakewell Puddings. They sure are delicious. My son and I once won a Bakewell pudding when we did a race here. Many moons ago now. How lovely it was running a race and then celebrating with cake afterwards. Good times.

Winning cake for racing. I could get used to that.
