Shake It Slim With Forza: Two Week’s In And How It Is Going

Two Week’s In: Shake It Slim With Forza.

Happy Wednesday.

I am now two weeks into my new health and fitness routine thanks to Forza who came to the rescue and sent me out a months supply of Shake It Slim milkshakes to try out.

How quickly does time fly!?

You can read my first post here: How I Plan To Shake It Slim With Forza Over The Next Four Weeks.

Over the last two weeks, I have been trying hard to eat a sensible diet and swap my Breakfast and Lunch for Shake It Slim Milkshakes.

My Thoughts On Starting A Diet:

I think diets are hard work to start, especially when things like Pancake Day and Valentine’s day are back to back and then the children are off school for a week and we have long days out.

There is always something that gets in the way. Do not even get me started on the day I had some fresh cream cakes bought me as a gift.

Getting The Right Balance:

I think a whole new change in lifestyle is better than a diet. Cutting out on things that are bad for you, or at least cutting down. Trying to eat more of what is good for you. Easier said than done. Why can’t chocolate be as good for you as lettuce? Or carrots taste like cake? That would be perfect!!

Getting More Exercise:

I have tried to step up my gym visits. Although as mentioned school half term is not a great time for doing things just for me. Although entertaining the kids can be a calorie burner!

I am loving my spinning and box fit classes and thankfully I have managed to get to one or two of these classes each week.

I walk twice a day with Mollie and I have been swapping my afternoon walking boots for trainers and starting to run again. I went from not running to running 4 times in the first week. It slowed down a little last week with the children off school but back into a good routine again this week.

Shake It Slim:

I find on the day I go to the gym, I like to feel full of energy. So early morning I have been having porridge or honey on toast.

I have been having my milkshakes late morning when I get back home from the gym. Then my 2nd one mid-afternoon for a late lunch after my walk/run with Mollie The Collie.

Making Realistic Plans:

When I first started the diet I was hoping to drop a stone in a few weeks but now I realise, that might not be possible.

As you get older I think it is easier to gain weight and harder to lose weight. I think it is better to make good changes in your diet and fitness routine, rather than eat nothing and be miserable.

How I Got To Where I Am Today:

When I was in my early 30’s I was not happy with my size. After having 4 children and gaining weight I was a size 16 but always wanted to be thinner.

I started running and trying to eat healthier. Fast forward a few years and I was a fit and healthy size 10. The smallest I had been since the age of 12.

Then over the years, I have started to gain weight. I swapped running for walks, I swapped healthy eating for cakes and then before I knew it I gained a few dress sizes.

Now in my 40s, the weight does not just drop off like in your youth. So you have to be sensible and plan for the future.  Losing one lb at a time.

My New Goals Are:

Eat a sensible breakfast, small lunch and healthy dinner.

Have a Shake It Slim late morning after exercise and another late afternoon after my run.

Cut out biscuits, crisps and treats I used to have throughout the day.

Making Progress:

I have changed 3/4 afternoon walks into runs.

Cut down on milky cappuccinos from 2 a day to the odd one about 3 times a week.

Cut down on morning and afternoon snacking and having a shake it slim instead.

Cut down on alcohol from a glass or two a night to a few at the weekend.

Rome wasn’t built in a day. Watch this space!!!

I love that your goals are really realistic. So many people go wrong by setting goals that just won't work straight away. These shakes sound so good and very delicious. I hope your fitness journey goes well! x

I think you're absolutely going about this the right way – making small realistic changes over time. I always start out with big goals when I go on a diet and have to quickly reign them in! I'm trying to run more instead of walking as well.

Thank you. Losing weight gets so hard work as you get older 🙁

You have made some really great changes to your lifestyle, well done! I have been trying this year to get back into running again (made the children cyclce with me running in their week off last week) but the foot of snow we have here in Sweden has hampered that a little this week. I also need to cut back on the sugary crap but got alcohol down to 2 nights a week 🙂

Aww, me too. The snow here has stopped me in my tracks too. I can not wait to run again. Well done you too, you sound like you are doing great.

You seem to have realistic goals which I'm sure you'll meet. I could do with cutting out the snacking and getting moving a bit more to increase the amount of exercise I do.
