Whether you’re longing for sweet or tangy flavours to tantalise your taste buds there’s nothing easier than whipping up a fresh glass of goodness in a matter of seconds.

Try Onken’s specially created recipes in celebration of National Smoothie Day on 21st June.

5 Tasty Smoothie Recipes For Summer

Firstly, Banana Bread Smoothie:

Serves: 2

Ingredients:

  • 120g Onken Natural Set yogurt
  • 250ml semi-skimmed milk
  • 2 pitted dates
  • 1 large banana, sliced
  • 2 tbsp rolled oats
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 tsp of nutmeg powder

To Garnish:

  • 4 banana slices
  • Cinnamon powder, to sprinkle

Method:

  1. Firstly, combine the yogurt, milk, dates, banana and oats in the blender and ensure the liquid does not exceed the max line.
  2. Blend for 30-40 seconds until smooth.
  3. Add cinnamon and nutmeg powder to the mix and blend for another 20 seconds.
  4. Once the smoothie is blended, garnish with banana slices and a sprinkle of cinnamon powder.
  5. Last but not least, enjoy.

Secondly, Kale Kream Smoothie:

Serves: 2

Ingredients:

  • 250ml unsweetened almond milk
  • 200g Onken 0% fat Natural yogurt
  • 1 avocado, halved, pitted and peeled
  • 45g kale leaves, roughly chopped
  • 1 tsp of chia seeds

To Garnish:

  • 1 lime wedge
  • Pinch of chia seeds

Method:

  1. Firstly, combine all ingredients in the blender and ensure the liquid does not exceed the max line.
  2. Blend for 30-40 seconds until smooth.
  3. Once the smoothie is blended, garnish with the lime wedge and sprinkle with chia seeds.

Thirdly, Mint And Melon Smoothie:

Serves: 2

Ingredients:

  • 250g cantaloupe or canary melon
  • 120g Onken 0% fat Natural yogurt
  • 120ml water
  • 1/2 lime, peeled
  • 3 large mint leaves

To Garnish:

  • 1 mint sprig

Method:

  • Firstly, combine all ingredients in the blender and ensure the liquid does not exceed the max line.
  • Blend for 30-40 seconds until smooth.
  • Once the smoothie is blended, garnish with the mint sprig.
Red Velvet Smoothie:

Fourthly, Red Velvet Smoothie:

Serves: 2

Ingredients:

  • 300ml beetroot juice
  • 2 large peeled, sliced and frozen bananas
  • 1 heaped tsp cacao or cocoa powder

To Garnish:

  • 1 heaped tbsp Onken Natural Set yogurt
  • 1 tsp cacao or cocoa powder, to sprinkle
  • One tsp agave nectar or honey
  • 1 tbsp lime juice

Method:

  1. Firstly, combine the beetroot juice and frozen bananas in the blender and ensure the liquid does not exceed the max line.
  2. Blend for 30-40 seconds until smooth.
  3. Add the heaped teaspoon of cacao or cocoa powder to the mix and blend for another 20 seconds.
  4. Once the smoothie is blended, leave a 1-2cm gap at the top of the cup or glass for the garnish.
  5. Spoon the yogurt on top, add lime juice, sprinkle with cacao or cocoa powder and drizzle with agave nectar or honey.
  6. Last but not least, enjoy.
Spiced Up Sweetness Smoothie

Last But Not Least, Spiced Up Sweetness Smoothie:

Serves: 2

Ingredients:

  • 120g Onken 0% fat Natural yogurt
  • 250ml water
  • 1 large banana, sliced
  • 2 small nectarines, pitted and sliced
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder

To Garnish:

  • 4 nectarine slices
  • 4 banana slices
  • Cinnamon powder, to sprinkle

Method:

  1. Firstly, combine all ingredients in the blender and ensure the liquid does not exceed the max line.
  2. Blend for 30-40 seconds until smooth.
  3. While the mixture is blending, slice the nectarine and banana into thin pieces.
  4. Once the smoothie is blended, garnish with nectarine and banana slices and sprinkle with cinnamon powder.
  5. Last but not least, enjoy.
