5 Upcycle Garden Ideas: Creative Ideas For Spring

5 Upcycle Garden Ideas: Creative Ideas For Spring. Hello friends. How does your garden look? Because mine looks quiet and lonely.

My back garden is so dull and boring after Winter, it’s not much fun walking into it. Especially now we are in lock-down and the garden is the only place we can visit!!

5 Upcycle Garden Ideas: Creative Ideas For Spring:

So I have no flowers around and deep holes in the grass that Mollie has decided to dig for me!? Also, no bright coloured flowers as Mollie would have chewed the heads off them. I need something pretty to look at and a lot of colours.

I am planning a Spring makeover that will not break the bank and I can also use some things I already have in and up-cycle them. We love to recycle wherever possible.

I am thinking hanging baskets full of flowers, dug holes filled in and grass seeds down. Maybe a nice wooden patio area and some nice kind of canopy.

Lots of mess to clear away first like a ping pong table and old bath from our blockage a few weeks ago.

Lots of flowers down the sides of the fences and my water feature restyled. Also, a new outside table would be my perfect dream.

5 Upcycle Garden Ideas: Creative Ideas For Spring:

Today I’m sharing 5 Garden Ideas from around the world that are so cool. Upcycling is a great way to repurpose materials and reduce waste. While also adding unique and creative elements to your garden.

You may have some old things around that you could up-cycle too? I know I have old wellies, wine bottles and jeans : ) Here are some tips for upcycling in your garden:

Flower Pot Men. Firstly, Use Perfect Or Old Broken Terracotta Pots. Instead of throwing away broken terracotta pots, use them to create a miniature garden. These flower pot husband and wife duo are adorable. How cool are these two? Great idea if you have a lot of flower pot around. You can stack the broken pieces to create a layered effect or use them to create a whimsical fairy garden. How cool would that be!

Welly Plant Pots. Secondly, Recycle Old Wellies Or Shoes. So now I know what to do with my old split wellies. Plant some of my favourite roses in them. So do you have any old wellies from winter just hanging around? Why stop at wellie? Why not turn old tires into planters too? Tires can be stacked on top of each other and painted to create a unique planter for your garden. You can also cut the tire in half and use each half as a planter. How cool. You will have so many planters.

Wine Flower Vases:

Thirdly, Wine Flower Vases. this is a great idea to use up any wine bottles and they look so good. I have a few spare wine bottles from last week just waiting to be upcycled. Repurpose old jars, wine bottles, and containers. Old containers such as buckets, tin cans can make great features for a garden.

Old Wheelbarrow Plant Holder. Fourthly, or even an old wheelbarrow can be turned into planters. Just make sure someone can drill a drainage holes in the bottom and add soil. Turn an old wheelbarrow into a planter, great idea! I love this idea and just thinking what my bath would look like as a plant pot!? Perfect as it already has a drainage hole.

Jeans Flower Pot. Fifthly and I also love this idea for your old jeans!! Wired and wonderful at the same time!! A flower pot holder made out of jeans. So cool.

So what do you think? Do you fancy trying any of these out?

Pallets can be recycled to create outdoor furniture, vertical gardens, and planters. You may create a practical and rustic piece for your garden by simply sanding them down and applying a coat of paint or stain.

Also, you could use old furniture too. You may turn an old chair or table into a cool planter. A table can serve as the foundation for a container garden, or the seat of a chair can be removed and filled with soil.

Why not use rusty ladders? An old ladder can be repurposed as a vertical garden by leaning it up against a wall. You can either put pots on each step or attach planters to the rungs.

Compost your own waste? Recycling organic waste into nutrient-rich soil for your garden is easy with composting.

Homemade Garden Ideas. Firstly, bunting anyone? I love to see bright colourful bunting. It looks beautiful blowing in the wind on hot summer days. Because bunting always reminds me of summer days too. As well as looking great outside in your garden, it looks adorable in the kitchen. Don’t you think so too? Draped all over a Welsh dresser!? Perfect. Homemade Garden Ideas: Bunting.

Up-cycled Jack Daniels Bottle. Secondly, I love to up-cycle, recycle and reuse old things. Especially easy things like jars or bottles.  You can really have fun turning an old bottle into something different. Perfect for candles, flowers or something similar. Up-cycled Jack Daniels Bottle: Flower Vase.

I have planted up wellies in the past but find the bigger they are the more often they fall over. Any suggestions how to stop this?

    • 11 March 2016 / 08:11

Whoo I wonder if popping a 1 litre or 2 litre pop bottle inside weighted down would help? or as Margaret said a support stick? stuck through the ground? I am going to try mine in about 4 weeks. I want to paint my kitchen before I start on the garden 🙂
