6am Walkies To Beat The Heat:

Extreme Weather Warning. The UK has issued a red warning for extreme heat. Over the next few days, the UK is set for extreme weather and it could even be the hottest weather on record for us living in the UK.

A red warning for extreme heat is in place and we have been told that on Monday and Tuesday some temperatures could even reach a high 40C.

I think I will be mostly staying inside but at times like this, you realise I should have purchased a big electric fan to sit under!!

6am Walkies For Murphy And I. This means one thing, drag myself out of bed at the crack of dawn for the next few days and crack on with walkies!! Or Murphy will not get out because by 9am it could be too warm.

He has already been tired out with the weather we have been having so let’s see how he handles it even hotter. It is a good thing he likes water, as Mollie The Collie hated it.

I have a plan to shower him if he gets too hot, even though he has had a brand new cut and blow dry. I am even thinking of buying him a kids paddling pool, the hard ones not inflatable to stand in.

Pampered Pooch And Murphy’s New Haircut:

A Pampered Pooch And Murphy’s New Haircut. Pampered pouch or what! It is so worth it though. When I come back from the hairdressers you can never really tell I’ve been but when Murphy comes back you can always tell.

Murphy the Goldendoodle had his 2nd haircut on Thursday and I told them to go as short as possible so it will keep him cooler in this weather. I love how different he looks when he comes out of the shop. I always wonder if it is him as I can see his big brown eyes again. Then he does something silly and I think, yes that is our Murphy!!

A lady who walked by us yesterday said. Oh my. your gorgeous and don’t you know it! To Murphy I mean, not to me, haha!! I did buy Murphy some dog hair clippers to cut his hair myself but they do such an amazing job that I am too scared to cut it myself yet.

Making Plans To Beat The Heat. So this morning and over the next few days, I have planned to get to the park at 6 am when my husband gets up for work. I really don’t want to go out early, I mean before my coffee to wake me up.

6am Walkies To Beat The Heat:

6am At The Park. Today I popped my running vest, shorts, and running trainers on, maybe to inspire me to run. Which it didn’t as it was already warm! Then off we went to the park.

I imagined the park to be really busy like it usually is a 8am but it wasn’t. I only saw 3 dog walkers there.

The first person we bumped into was an old man with a border Collie that looked just like Mollie. Adorable. So Murphy had a little play with her whilst I talked all thing’s Border Collie with her owner.

The next person we walked by had 2 full of energy, Dalmatians again adorable but full of excitement. Murphy was a bit scared of two big dogs at a time and kept running around me to get away from them.

He is still on the lead as I do not trust him to come back yet so around he kept going in one direction and then the other. It felt like I was on a roundabout and I wanted to get off!! He has an Extendable Dog Lead and they are great until Murphy runs away from another dog and wants me to protect him. After this dizzy spell, we got the whole part to ourselves.

The worst thing for me was I forgot to set my Apple Watch to walking mode so I didn’t even get to record my walk and prove I had been. It did pick up the last 15 minutes when we were on a mission to get home.

Aww! Murphy looks very smart with his new haircut. I hate the heat but I am hiding inside with the curtains shut and a fan on and it’s not too bad. x

Early morning walks are the best – beat the heat, miss the crowds, and compose yourself for the day ahead.

Yep, we are definitely getting up and out of the house nice and early too if we want to get moving at all before the heat of the day settles in. Your pooch looks adorable with his new shorter cut!

Thanks Anne. It was hard work getting up early, especially when I couldn’t sleep well in the heat!

We’re actually cooler here in coastal Georgia, USA than many places in the UK. That’s an unusual turn of events. I hope you get some relief from the excessive heat soon. Murphy is adorable!

We walked our dog around 9pm during the heat to a field with a stream for him to cool down in. Otherwise both him and the cat had to be brought inside as they were sun puddling regards of the temps. Thanks for linking with #pocolo

What a dapper hair cut, and isn’t Murphy gorgeous.

The 6 am walkies sound swell.

Have a good week ahead, Claire.
