Asics Run Longer Campaign & Keeping Up With The Kids

Asics Run Longer Campaign & Keeping Up With The Kids. Hello friends.

So a few weeks ago The Running Bug kindly emailed me and asked me if I would like to be part of the Asics and Intersports latest campaign, #RunLonger.

(Post contains PR samples as I am a Proud Asics Ambassador).

Asics Run Longer Campaign & Keeping Up With The Kids:

Yes please!!

Exciting times as I get to road test their new range of trainers and fitness apparel, also I get to do what I love best, try to run!

I am always so honoured to be asked to work with Asics.

So far I have really enjoyed working with them on 4 campaigns including #MixupYourRun and  #PoundTheRoad.

I have loved every minute being part of their team.

New Asics Kit:

Firstly, I am always impressed with the new Asics kit. The quality, style and fit of the apparel is always great.

I must admit, this is my favourite range so far.

Secondly, as regular readers would know, I love to run in pink. Nice bright and fresh. For the modern world, highly visible too.

I am usually one for picking my running gear based on colour, sometimes picking colour over what I actually need.

This time though perfect colour and practical too. Bonus!!

Fit And Feel Of Apparel:

Thirdly, the fit as always is perfect. True to size.

The cut of the garments, and shape is excellent. Hugging my body in the right places, whilst giving me freedom to achieve a full range of motion.

Keeping me comfortable and stylish too.

Perfect for a run or a fitness class. Did I mention great colours too!? Ha..

Trainers:

Fourthly, I am in between sizes in the Asics trainer range so I always opt for the larger option.

This size feels great, as there is more room all round. (I hate tight fitting restrictive footwear.)

They have plenty of room around the toe-box and I lace the trainers up nice and snugly.

They offer plenty of cushioning for my legs, whilst seemingly giving me excellent support in my ankles.

Having new trainers always makes me get out and train more. I am sure if you had new kit every day, you would go out a few times a day everyday?!

Perhaps if I win the lottery!

Asics Run Longer Campaign & Keeping Up With The Kids:

When I was in my late 30’s I thought I was a slow runner. Even though, looking back I was not too bad.

4 years later and 3 out of my 4 children are all faster than me.

Just my Daughter left to overtake me. She can already sprint faster than me. I now feel like a really slow jogger.

When I did my first ever Parkrun I ran 24 minutes 33 seconds. The last one I did a few weeks ago was 29 minutes and 39 seconds.

A big difference in 4 years. Now my goal is to get back to around that time.

Can it be possible 4 years on?

I have a lot of work to do but I am determined to get new PB this year.

Is knocking 5 minutes off a 5km, a dream or reality?

Stay tuned to find out!!

Keeping Up With The Kids

Asics Run Longer Campaign & Keeping Up With The Kids:

It is amazing how time flies.

You think you are too old to improve at 35. Then when you hit 40, you think if I was only 35 again!!

I am starting to realize that you are never too old to improve, I am now trying to be the best that I can be on any particular day.

In fact that is my new motto. ‘ Be the best I can be today, then be even better tomorrow’. Watch out World, here I come!!

Keeping Up With The Kids Abd Dog!

Some pictures with my training partner.

Who is always ready to go day or night, whatever the weather. Although like me she likes the Sun best.

Besides some new gear, a few other things that need tweaking, like my diet!!

Simple eat less cake, more fruit and vegetables.

The main thing drink more water. I always struggle to drink water.

Sometimes getting dehydrated as a result.

One of my first Half Marathons, I suffered from dehydration. I often forget to drink any water until I am dizzy.

I have also, just installed a new app on my phone to remind me to drink water. Funnily enough I never forget to drink my wine!!

My goal then for this year is to get a 25 minute 5KM Parkrun time.

I have never used Asics Kit, I will give them a go at least sounds like a good reason to go shopping. I completely agree with you, you are never too old to improve if we focus on being the best we can be each day.

Pink is my favourite workout colour too! I am a rubbish runner but love nothing more than a good gym workout, I think I am more of a weights workout kind of girl! #triedtested

I LOVE my Asics trainers — they've just started to wear on the heels inside though so are starting to give me blisters — time for a new pair I think. I agree with the speed thing!! I run so slowly these days that my husband — who walks really quickly — actually goes faster than me when I'm jogging!!! At least we're moving though! 😉
