Boots Little Boost Campaign: My New Lifestyle Plans.
Hello friends. Happy Thursday. How is your week going?
It is school half term holidays this week so it is all go in our house.
This week, I have teamed up with Boots to share how I plan to boost my health and wellness routines over the next few months, I need to start looking after myself as the years roll by!!
Boots Little Boost Campaign: My New Lifestyle Plans
I never really make any New Years resolutions nowadays. Been there, done that and failed every single time.
With so many leftover foods, biscuits, chocolates and drinks from Christmas it take’s me all the way through January to finish them off. (Why do we buy so much in the first place, I think having four children I like to make sure the cupboards are full when they all come home!?).
Also by January, I am ready for a rest and although I cannot hibernate, I do like to keep warm inside the house. I eat plenty and do as little exercise as possible just waiting for Winter to pass.
By February I am starting to awaken with nights getting lighter and the excitement that Spring is around the corner. The panic has set in and I realise I need to lose some weight to get back into my beautiful Summer dresses again. We can’t always get a new wardrobe every year!!
I am now back at the gym, trying to detox and eating healthier again.
A few weeks ago Boots asked me if I would like to take part in their Little Boost Campaign. Yes please, I could really do with a little boost!
Boots kindly sent me a parcel full of products from their Boots Wellness selection.
Boots stock a huge range of vitamins, health drinks, body scrubs and rubs, massage oils, rejuvenating teas and all sorts of wonderful things to pamper our Winter-Weary selves.
Here Is A Home Made Action Plan For The Next Few Months:
Boots Little Boost Campaign:
1.) Plan My Day:
I find that if I do not make a plan I get nothing done.
Whenever I plan the day ahead I get so much more done. So why don’t I do it more often?!
If I plan to get up early and start work, what needs doing get’s done. If I plan what exercise I want to do for the day, I go out and do it. If I plan some after-school exercise for the children, we go out and do it. If I plan a nice freshly cooked dinner it gets made.
If I make some plans the night before I get so much more done.
Everything falls into place so much better with a plan.
Plan, plan, plan ahead. I was not planning on using the word plan so much in that paragraph😏
2.) Eat More Fresh Fruits And Vegetables:
I need to start eating more fresh fruit and vegetables.
I do buy plenty in and make the children eat up their greens but I am not too good at eating it myself.
I do love avocados though. I could eat them until they come out my ears! whenever I see a pack of 4 in the shop I buy them and have to stop myself eating more than one at a time.
I now need to vary it up a bit.
3.) Visit The Gym More:
I have a gym membership and I am really trying to join a few different classes each week and get into a good routine.
It has been hard over the last few weeks to get into a routine with cold and flu keep visiting the kids but hopefully, soon Winter bugs will go away as we move into Spring.
A smoothie after a good workout is always appreciated. I used to love making smoothies when I was into a good routine a few years ago.
I am planning to boost my energy levels by taking up more exercise and feeling fitter.
3.) Make a weekly and monthly goal.
Along with my aforementioned action plan each day, a medium and long-term goal is essential.
My medium goal is to stick to a plan for longer than a week. Ha
My long-term goal is to fit into my Summer dresses. Also to start living a healthier lifestyle. In my 40s now so have to think of the future.
4.) Take extra Vitamins:
As well as eating lots more fruit and vegetables, I am boosting my immune system by taking some extra vitamins. We can never really tell when we are low on vitamins so a few extra will always do us more good than harm. Your body is designed to cope with extra Vitamins, it is not designed to cope without them.
5.) Drink More Water:
Water is something that I forget to drink plenty of, despite my Husband nagging me to do so. It fills us up, makes us hydrated and even makes us feel good. What’s not to love!?
I always feel I have a Lack of energy when I do not drink water so I am “planning” to try and take more water on board.
6.) Start eating more Manuka Honey:
When I started a running club years ago all my friends used to eat Manuka honey, they got me into it and I use to love eating it on toast for breakfast each morning.
It used to make me feel healthy and I can not remember when and why I stopped buying it.
Love Manuka honey!
7.) Take Time Out:
Take 5 to 10 minutes time out and think about my day.
Turn the phone off and think about how my day is going and how I want it to end.
It is amazing how many thoughts can go through your mind in 10 minutes. Detox.
8.) Relax And Pamper Myself More:
Make more time for me. A nice regular haircut, facemask and manicure.
9.) Enjoy Walking More:
I have to walk at least 2 hours a day with Mollie the Collie.
Sometimes I am stressed because I have so much at home to do.
There is nothing I can do about it as Mollie needs her walk.
So I need to chill more and go with the flow.
Jobs will still be there waiting for me when I get home!!
More enjoyable walks out in the park, stress-free and breathing in the fresh air.
A walk is a good place to make a plan!!!
10.) Change Oils For Coconut Oil:
I now have some coconut oil so I am going to be changing my usual oil for this and see how healthier I feel. Coconut oils are great for lots of things, not just cooking, here are a few more ideas: Coconut Oil.
11.) Enjoy More Family Time:
I plan to start taking more time out with the children over the next few weekends. Getting out and about on long walks, shopping trips and days out. More fun and laughter.
12.) Sleep More:
Early to bed and late to rise. I have had so many late nights and early mornings just lately with one thing or another. I love my sleep and my sleep loves me. Apparently, 7½ to 8 hours is ideal? Who knew? I thought 10 hours!!

I really love some of your tips. Especially taking more vitamins! That is something I really need to do. I'm so overwhelmed by what is on offer, but need to look into properly. I do most of these already, but you're right, it's so hard to transition from Christmas back to healthy eating. Our cupboards are always still full in January too and all we want to do in the winter months is to munch on chocolate haha. x

Thanks lovely. Even the children can be low at this time of year. My Daughter is really low on vitamin D from the lack of sunshine, maybe 🙁
I've recently started taking wellness medicine, to help boost my metabolism and for calming affects too.

Thanks for stopping by Lindsey, these sound great 🙂
I started taking turmeric this week as I suffer with arthritis and have heard its good for the inflammation

I am sorry to hear you suffer from arthritis Kara. My Mum suffers and it is horrible to see her in pain. Yes, she told me that it is good for arthritis when I told her about my parcel. I wanted her to have them but she is on some strong tablets for her pain at the minute and been told not to mix them.
I think your plans sound great. I could do with taking a leaf out of your book. And despite getting 7-8 hours sleep a night I always feel tired. Maybe I need a few more vitamins?

Might be low on vitimins, got me thinking this now as I love my sleep. I could sleep anytime day or night if I had the time.
What a lovely little package and what perfect timing with it being half term – this sounds like the perfect care package for every busy mum!

Thanks Talya, we all picked our favourite things to suit our needs 🙂
We all need to take a bit of time out for ourselves. This looks like a great package, I am definitely going to look at the sleep herb drops x #PoCoLo

Thank you 🙂
great ideas, I definitely need to do more of these especially remembering to take vitamins. I've got a bad chest infection atm and recently I've been looking into more natural products to help such as essential oils as have heard they are great for your health.
Author
Oh no Joanna, hope you recover quickly.
Fab post, I need to do plenty of these things, especially take on more water and exercise more. I've also heard about turmeric but have never tried it! Nice on Claire, have a happy half term. x Jacqui

Thanks Jacqui, I just found out my Mum And Dad love Turmeric for health reasons 🙂
I always feel so sluggish this time of year so right now i am taking a stand with self care and really doing things for me right now!
Author
Thanks Deborah, me too. Especially after Christmas.
There are some great ideas here to get back on track. Having hibernated a lot of the Swedish winter I now have my work cut out for my summer wardrobe!!

Thanks Sonia 🙂
Self care is so crucial!!

Thanks Tamar 🙂
I think it is so important to look after oneself and I find that vitamin tablets are such a great way of giving me a boost. I think they help increase my energy levels, my immune system and my general wellness. I do love a good detox as well and always try my hardest to drink more water. I also think family time is very important and I always feel so much more content when I spend a lot of time with my family.
Author
Thank you 🙂 It is so easy to get out of routine but thankfully I am back on track 🙂
I used to love Manuka honey too and then got out of the habit. A spoonful in hot water is how I'd have it. I'm going to start again! Love your list of resolutions, i'm with you, much better to start them when spring is almost here than in January.
Author
Thanks you. Whoo I have my honey on toast, must try it in hot water, thanks 🙂
