We are big fans of Christmas here so after a miserable year all round, Christmas has been the only thing we have had to look forward too.
I am sure many of you also feel the same?
Gluten-Free Hotel Chocolat Advent Calendars 2020:
My children love nothing more than counting down the days until Christmas. Even my eldest son who is 26 still loves an advent calendar, snap, so do I!
Advent calenders have come a long way since I was little. Gone are the days where you were excited to open a door to see which picture was behind it.
Can you also remember this? Please do not say it’s just me!?
Advent calendars have been around since the 19th century, I wonder what was inside? Certainly not all the delights of modern times.
Every year we always treat the children to a chocolate advent and then at the last minute the husband and I end up buying one for ourselves too.
Nothing better than opening a door to your advent calendar and seeing one of your favourite thing’s behind it, chocolate!!
Over the last few years, it has got harder to just run into a shop and pick a few advent calenders up for our family.
My daughter has developed an allergy, so can now only eat gluten-free. My eldest son has been diagnosed with a dairy allergy this year. I have given up on dairy altogether due to cramps when I have anything with milk in. We seem to be a household of allergies.
I am not sure whether these allergies were around years ago and we just didn’t know? Or just as some things fade away something else comes in to take its place? Luckily for us and many of you, lots of companies cater to all types of dietary requirements. Great.

A few weeks ago I was introduced to Hotel Chocolat. All the ones I am sharing here are gluten-free, you can imagine how pleased my daughter is to hear this!!
The dark chocolate one is milk-free ( my son and I will love this) and they all contain a full list of ingredients to cover a wide variety of dietary requirements and preferences online.
So if you are allergic to anything you can find out before you order what the product you like contains. Just as it should be.
As people become more aware of what they are eating, it is great to see companies be open with their ingredients. This gives us consumers the widest and informed choices.

Haha! I have more food allergies than foods I can eat. What a pain in the backside they are. These advents look beautiful though Claire. I often browse the windows of Hotel Chocolat wishing I could eat some of it! xx

I love an Advent calendar and I do remember just being excited about a picture behind the numbered door. I’ve done them with my “kids” who are now grown and they’ll be around this year for Advent so we found a wine Advent calendar for all of us to enjoy (they are all legal drinking age!). 🙂 That chocolate calendar looks great!
