Greenwich In London And 5 Reasons Why You Should Visit. Hello friends, happy Thursday.
To begin, and to change the subject slightly, are you a fan of the TV show The Apprentice?
I enjoy watching The Apprentice because it features some fantastic sights of London. I always wish I could be on this show, showing everyone who is truly in charge, hehe. Do you feel the same way?
So last week, when we were watching it, and they met up in Greenwich, I realised I had not shared photos from a day out that we had there last year.

Anyway, on our 25th Wedding Anniversary, we took a trip to London and one place we visited was Greenwich.
London To Greenwich.
When we were staying in London, we took the Docklands Light Railway, and it didn’t take very long at all. We’re delighted we went because it was a beautiful day and we made some wonderful memories. So, here are a few images from our day in Greenwich. London.
What is Greenwich? Greenwich is a borough in London, England, on the banks of the River Thames.
Greenwich In London And 5 Reasons Why You Should Visit:
Firstly, Visit The Greenwich Park Views Are Breath-taking:
We wanted to visit Greenwich for the views and they did not disappoint. Amazing. We walked from the station through Greenwich village and then into the park.
We walked up a steep hill and my husband was laughing at how unfit I had got, as I had to keep stopping for breaths.
When we got to the top, the first thing I remembered was the breath-taking views. You can see for miles and miles.
The best view I saw was the view behind us in the photo above of London and all the amazing buildings. The view overlooking the River Thames was stunning. Also, home to some of London’s most iconic views.
Secondly, Lots Of Green Space To Walk And Enjoy The Fresh Air:
Greenwich Park is a former hunting park in Greenwich and one of the largest single green spaces in south-east London.
With covid still around, we wanted to visit somewhere outdoors, and this park you could walk around for hours. So many fun walks to take and throughout the summer they do have lots of things going in. They were setting up something as we walked by.
Turns out every Saturday night in summer Tide Square is transformed into an outdoor cinema with a selection of cult classics – and it’s all FREE!
So many beautiful flowers grow here in Summer too. So if you love taking flower photos like me you will be very happy.
Thirdly, Learn About History.
The huge National Maritime Museum. Queen’s House. The classical buildings of the Old Royal Naval College.
So many places I wanted to visit but we went late afternoon and everywhere was closing down for the night. Next time we visit we will go earlier so we can go inside these amazing places.
Fourthly, Learn About Time And See The Greenwich Clock, London.
Also the home of the Royal Observatory. Learn all about time.
The Shepherd Gate Clock is mounted on the wall outside the gate of the Royal Observatory, Greenwich building in Greenwich, Greater London.
Just above the steep hill, I mentioned earlier. Such an iconic piece to see.

Fourthly, Visit The Cutty Sark:
So much history here and so much to learn. It is home to the Cutty Sark, a restored 19th-century ship.
This looks amazing from the outside, as mentioned before we were too late to visit inside but another thing on our list to do another day.
Fifth, Take A Walk Around The Village And Pubs Or Bars:
After an amazing afternoon, we found a nice traditional bar and had a meal and drinks in Greenwich village, London. The bar was such a great price in fact it was as cheap as it was at home.
Which we were not expecting. We thought it was going to be really expensive. We do try to find a Weatherspoon’s wherever we go though, so we know it will not be expensive.
This one was The Gate Clock – JD Wetherspoon. Cutty Sark Station, 210 Creek Rd, London SE10 9RB.
So, what are your thoughts? Do you appreciate my Greenwich, England, mini-tour? Do you like my little tour of Greenwich, England?
