How To Make Iced Gaelic Coffee:

Preparation: 10 minutes, plus chilling

Serves: 2

  • 400ml boiling water
  • 4 tsp Tate & Lyle Demerara Sugar, plus extra, for sprinkling
  • 4-6 tbsp Irish whiskey
  • 100ml double cream

How To Make:

  • Firstly, brew the ground coffee in a jug or cafetiere with the boiling water and leave for 5 minutes.
  • Strain into a clean jug and stir in the 4tsp Tate & Lyle Demerara sugar. Leave to cool, then chill.
  • Stir the Irish whiskey into the chilled coffee and pour into 2 glasses.
  • Last but not least, whip the cream in a chilled bowl until it holds its shape, then spoon it on top of the drinks. Sprinkle with a little extra Demerara sugar, then serve.
  • Cook’s tip: For speed, you can use squirty cream from a can.

Serve and enjoy: Serve the iced Gaelic coffee immediately and enjoy!

Note: You can also adjust the amount of whiskey and cream to your preference. If you prefer a stronger drink, add more whiskey, and if you prefer a creamier drink, add more cream.

Here are some tips for making the perfect iced Gaelic coffee:

Firstly, Use The Best Ingredients. Use freshly made coffee, fine Irish whisky, and fresh cream as your main foundations.

Secondly, Chill The Coffee. Before preparing the cocktail, chill the coffee, whisky, and cream in the refrigerator for at least an hour. Add sugar or simple syrup to the coffee before chilling if you want to sweeten it.

Thirdly, Give It A Little Shake. Coffee and whisky are combined. In a shaker or pitcher with ice, combine the iced coffee and whisky.

Fourthly, Ready To Serve. Pour the coffee and whisky mixture over the ice in a tall tumbler filled with ice. Pour some fresh cream on top of the coffee and whisky mixture to finish it off. If preferred, garnish the coffee with a dash of cocoa powder or cinnamon. Serve the iced coffee and take a sip
