How To Make Parmigiano Reggiano Pizzas Whirls.

Over the next few weeks, I have teamed up with Parmigiano Reggiano to share some of our favourite cheese inspired recipes.

On Tuesday I shared one of our all-time favourite meals; Pasta Bolognese With Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese and it tasted delicious using Parmigiano Reggiano sprinkled on top.

Today I am sharing a cool idea for the party season. Parmigiano Reggiano Pizzas Whirls. These are so much fun and really easy to make. My children love these. Straight out the oven on to their plates!!

They are perfect for weekend treats, parties, a quick lunch idea or dipping into a nice bowl of spaghetti bolognese?

Warning, This recipe is so delicious you may end up eating more than you were planning too!

Makes around 12

Start rolling inwards from the bottom to the centre like you would a swiss roll. Make sure it is rolled up nice and tightly.

With a pastry brush, coat the top and sides with the beaten egg. Sprinkle the rest of the Parmigiano Reggiano on top of the pizza whirls. Cook in the oven for around 22-26 minutes.

Leave to cool slightly (if possible) then enjoy.

Serve hot or cold.

Once they have rested and cooled store in an airtight container. I always eat them within 48 hours.

Tips: Try experimenting with different flavoured cheeses, veggies, tuna or cooked meats.

Why not get the kids to help!!

My Daughter loves helping out when we are making these.

Good To Know:

Did you know that the minimum maturation time of Parmigiano Reggiano is at least 12 months, but only when it reaches approximately 24 months of age, is at its best?

Ageing can continue for up to 36 months or more, during which time the cheese develops its flavour, texture and digestibility.

I am sat here starving and man, I want some of those bad boys! Love anything bread or pastry, even better if it is stuffed with cheese. Actually, who am I kidding – it could be stuffed with absolutely anything! haha
