What Is A Sushi Salad Made Of?

This sushi salad is made up of, a salad mix, cucumber, spring onions, white crabmeat, fresh root ginger, red chilli, fresh coriander leaves, sweet chilli sauce.

Also, zest and juice of 1 lime, salt and freshly ground black pepper and nori. This recipe has tinned crab meat and nori. You can always add more sushi to the recipe if you like.

It typically features a base of fluffy sushi rice or mixed greens, this one is salad version. It is topped with an array of colorful vegetables like crisp cucumber.

Crabmeat , is artfully arranged on top, along with a sprinkling of fresh coriander leaves and nori strips.

The dish is finished with a drizzle sweet chilli sauce dressing, enhancing the flavours and adding a touch of zest with the lime juice.

Preparation time: 5 minutes | Cooking time: None

Serves: 2

Ingredients:

  • 2 handfuls of herb salad mix
  • 225g/8oz cucumber, cut into batons
  • 3 spring onions, trimmed and sliced
  • 1 x (170g) can of white crabmeat, drained
  • 2.5cm/1 inch piece of fresh root ginger, peeled and grated
  • 1 red chilli, deseeded and chopped
  • 1 (20g) pack fresh coriander leaves, roughly chopped
  • 15ml/1 tbsp of sweet chilli sauce
  • zest and juice of 1 lime
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ sheet of nori, finely sliced

How To Make A Sushi Salad Bowl:

Method:

  1. Firstly, divide the salad leaves between two plates or bowls, then top with the cucumber, onions, crab.
  2. Secondly, in a bowl, mix the ginger, chilli and coriander together with the chilli sauce and lime zest and juice. Season to taste.
  3. Last but not least, drizzle the dressing over the salad and scatter over that nori. Serve with lime wedges as garnish.
