I’m Not That Fit

I’m Not That Fit.

There comes a time in your life; when you stop and think to yourself: I’m Not That Fit!!

I’m Not That Fit:

Well, not as fit as I would like to be.

Not that fit that exercises and running looks and feels easy.

Not that fit when I run a 5 km Parkrun I am happy with my time. Not that fit where I can pick up weights on one hand and make it look like I am picking up a shopping bag. Not that fit that I can stand at the front of a fitness class and know I am doing all the exercises right. Not that fit where I have to confidences to pick the heaviest weights up at the gym and grunt so loudly that everyone in the gym looks around at you.

At one time, a few years ago I could run 6 miles a day with a friend and always think to myself; I am so unfit!

I have even run two marathons and thought at the time, I can not run!! I’m not fit enough. I wish I was that fit now.

Now I’ve reached an age where weight has snook up on me, I chose to walk instead of run and a mile running feels like a half marathon!! Not that I have wanted to lose my fitness. Another thing that has crept up on me over the years.

When you feel like quitting, think about why you started.

The more you think you’re unfit, the more you do not try to get fit. As it never gets any easier. Sometimes I just feel like stopping running. It is easy to spend an hour on twitter when I could have run to the gym, done a spinning class or even just walked the dog.

When you feel like quitting, think about why you started. Also the more you do the easier it gets, right?

Do something today that your future self will thank you for.

Not anymore just wanting to be fitter, though. A change is in the air!! No more a tomorrow I am going to get if and more of today I am going to get fit. I really need to: Do something today that your future self will thank you for.

I was really pleased with last week’s exercise. I managed 3 spinning classes, 1 boot class, 1 circuit class and ran every day, including 2 running club sessions. The first week I have not felt ill or weak all through the week and managed to do all the exercise I wanted to do without a struggle. With no achy legs. I am still doing my run streak, nearly 3 months of running every day and getting into a routine of going to the gym 3 times a week has just started to be a reality.

Time to step the training up. Well, not step it up as much as keep last weeks routine going each week and not just a one-off.

No more sitting around hoping to get fit, eh Mollie?

Maybe I’m in a glass half empty mood and it should be half full mood, who knows. Hopefully, soon I shall find out.

I’m Not That Fit: YET.

Life isn’t waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain.

I am not doing too bad. My dog also keeps me fit with 2x 1 hour walks a day too. I just want to be fitter. My goal is now to improve my Parkrun time. I have over 6 minutes to reach my PB and it is one I want to beat.

Life isn’t waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain, isn’t it?

Watch this space!!!!

Are you as fit as you want to be or do you want to get fitter?

I should have read this yesterday as my planned 12 mile run today turned into 1. I guess I ought to get into a daily running habit that would help. I have managed to do "something" every day this week so far and my Garmin never lets me stay still for too long! Well done you – you are doing fantastically and good luck with your Parkrun pb

Hang in there… I've been working out for over 2 years straight (every day) and I too feel often during a work out, jeez for working out for so long you'd think i'd "look" or "be able to" Plus with the warm weather approaching which means a bevvy now and then… it may take longer. Perhaps when I hit my goal of 1000 days I'll feel that way…But seriously… just keep doing your best, and then doing better than that. All improvement is an accomplishment. When Friends ask how I could work out every day I told them that I just started by walking around the block. I did that for awhile then added another block and so on… Now I do work out tapes.. I still don't enjoy it, but can't stop in part b/c is watching a TV show really more important than my health? Nah… didn't think so.You've got this!K of TAF
