Looking Back On Fun Time And Wearing Fun

Looking Back On Fun Time And Wearing Fun Dresses. Hello friends. So how are you doing? Any fun plans for the weekend?

It is my weekend off work so I am going to take a nice few days off. So lazy!!

I have been working really hard this week filling the shelves with food and helping feed the nation ;).

How Are You Handling Lock Down? Lock-down is really getting to me now and I can not wait for things to get back to normal. But what will normal be?

Will anything ever be the same again? And If so how long will it really take? How are you handling lock-down?

Lots Of My Favourite Unique Shops Are Closing Down Or Are In Trouble:

I love my quirky swing dresses, polka dots and floral patterns. I like to describe my style as modern with a vintage twist.

This dress is one of my favourites. It pretty much sums my style up in a dress.

As it is a flattering style and has my dreams of one day travelling the world printed all over it.

So since lock-down I have not treated myself to any new clothes. But it is my birthday in 10 days time and I always like to treat myself to a new swing style dress.

This year is going to just another day stuck in the house so I thought I would cheer myself up with a new dress!!

I went over to the Lindy Bop website and type in their name only to be redirected.

I quickly went to their Twitter page and realised they have gone into administration 🙁

Another shop I love is Cath Kidston and heard that they are struggling with the Coronavirus too. Such sad times for retail.

5 Tips On How To Wear Vintage:

Vintage style dresses can add a touch of elegance and glamour to your wardrobe. Here are some tips on how to wear them:

Firstly, Choose A Era You Like. Choose the right era: Vintage style dresses are often inspired by specific eras, such as the 1920s, 1940s, or 1950s. Choose a dress that reflects your personal style and the era you like the most.

Secondly, Choose Your Footwear. Vintage-inspired gowns look their best when worn with the matching shoes. A 1950s swing dress, for instance, looks excellent with pumps or saddle shoes, whereas a 1920s flapper dress looks great with Mary Jane shoes.

Thirdly, Accessorise Wisely. Vintage style dresses are often statement pieces on their own, so accessorise them wisely. A simple pair of earrings or a bracelet can complement the dress without overpowering it.

Fourthly, Layer With A Jacket Or Cardigan. Wear your vintage dress with a cardigan, denim jacket, or leather jacket to add warmth or to dress down the style. Make sure the dress fits properly and compliments your body by paying close attention to the fit. If necessary, you can have your vintage-style dress tailored.

Fifthly, Experiment With Hair And Makeup. Vintage style dresses look great with vintage hairstyles and makeup. Experiment with pin curls, victory rolls, and bold lip colours to complete the look.

Keep in mind that dresses in the vintage style are versatile, timeless pieces. Get a look that suits you by having fun experimenting.

Lockdown Certainly Makes You Look At Your Life In A Certain Way:

Before lock-down, I could travel the UK weekly if I wanted to.

But I chose to be home, mostly on my computer most of the time when the children were at school.

Why, because it was a routine I got into.

Now I have to stay in I realised how boring my life really was being inside all day.

I could have visited places like this with my Husband on days off from work.

Travelled to my favourite walks with the dog and only now I have realised when you can’t get out, how much I really want to get out!!

So now, I can not wait to be able to drag my family around the park’s and cities, beeches and walks and make life a lot more interesting for everyone.

Just got to wait this thing out.

Another thing is in lock-down has made me realised is to love what clothes you already do own.

Re-wear your favourite thing daily to get wear out of them instead of saving them for best and sparkly every day. Why not eh?

Lots More Travel Plans To Make Once This Is Over:

Love seeing the animals at Wollaton Hall And Deer Park. I can not wait for this to be over so we can visit again soon. Some of the Batman scenes were filmed here too. How cool!?

I really want to go and have Afternoon Tea here too because who does not love afternoon tea? Also, this dress would be perfect to wear! Plus I have heard that they also have a Parkrun here ( It will be cancelled at the minute due to covid-19 but be back soon).

I can not wait to run this. I have spent many days here watching my children all run cross country here and wanted to join in with them. These photos were taken last summer here as I’m staying Home To Save Lives. Are any of your favourite clothing stores closing down or struggling? Is lock-down making you think about what you want to do with your life next? Do you want to travel more when this is all over?

Thank so much for stopping by.

This is definitely a fun dress, Claire and it’s very pretty indeed. We in Australia, have slightly softer rules and can go out for a walk or exercise and have a swim in the ocean. But the shops are closed and are in distress although most of them gone on line. It is hard time for everyone and make you appreciate things that in the past we took for granted.

I hope you get to get out soon. Our governor is opening up our state starting Friday, in graduated measures. Other than NYC the States have pretty good statistics overall. Take care!
