On Saturday I went on a fun shopping trip with my mum and Daughter. Not a shopping trip I will forget in a while as my manage to damage her car in the car park afterwards though :(.
This week’s work of the week that springs to mind is Stress.
Since I have started my new job and I have been getting out and about more, everywhere I look people are stressed. We all get stressed but I really do not like how people can just turn to a complete stranger and be really rude or nasty for no reason.
I have seen and heard some really horrible things this week and I don’t like it. I am sure it is only going to get worse with the run-up to Christmas too.
I am always nice to people if I can be. Obviously not too friendly but it cost nothing to smile or just be kind. The other day at work an older man who I had never seen before looked at me and said, “Oh wow, that is a really lovely smile you have there. You should smile more often”.
I could tell by the look on his face he was surprised. Honestly, I think he was in shock at someone being nice to him and it had thrown him for a minute or two. It really made me pause for thought too.
Getting my Winter boots out now the weather has turned colder but can you guess what, yep, the sun came out while I was wearing them and I got too hot!!
Ha!!
I styled this outfit inspired by some beautiful pink roses I had brought me last week.
It is about time I started wearing this jumper too as I treated myself to it last year and save it for best.
The next thing I knew it was too warm to wear it.
Rose Inspired Outfit: What I Wore:
- T-shirt: Primark
- Jumper: Primark
- Skirt: Marks & Spencers
- Boots: (Something else I keep for best) c/o Marisota
I love this skirt and it gets plenty of wear.
Here are a few other ways I have worn this skirt:
Last Autumn I teamed it up with a plain back polo jumper on a Day Out In Sheffield and this Summer teamed up with my adorable Friends t-shirt on A Day Out In Lincoln.

What a perfect outfit for a cool fall day. I love the bright pink skirt. It looks so warm and cozy. Thank you for featuring The Little Yellow Corner Store this week. We now moved right into winter with snow. I would definitely appreciate a pretty pink rose sweater like yours as the temperatures are dropping.

Thanks for stopping by. I think we might get snow soon, it has turned really cold.
Love that rose accented jumper! It looks great with the skirt.

Thanks 🙂
Beautiful outfit Claire! I love the bright pink skirt and your matching lipstick! The rose sweater is so lovely on you too. I love greys and pinks. I think it is sad that people have to be in a bad mood during the holidays, letting stress get to them. You are so right, it doesn’t take much to smile .
Have a great week!

That’s a gorgeous skirt Claire, I can see it in so many different outfits! I’ve got lots of jumpers and coats that I’m keen to wear but I’m also thinking that winter goes on long enough (or did this year) so I don’t mind postponing it while we can.
Author
Thanks Gail. Love this skirt. I agree with you Winter lasts long enough but I can feel it start to get cold this week 🙁
I love that rose sweater! Gorgeous!!

Thanks Heather 🙂
I agree. I see or hear too many frowns or complaints. I am not sure what it is but it’s rare to see someone smiling. Got me thinking? How hard can it be? Hmmmm…I hope your car is okay though? Beautiful outfit Claire! Not only is that pink skirt eye catching but the color is vibrant. Wishing you a fabulous week ahead!

Such a pretty and cheerful outfit, Claire! It matches your lovely smile! And I hear you about rude people. Just this past week some women came into the consignment store and when I greeted them with a cheery “Hello, how are you today?”, they were so nasty and apparently offended by this that they snarled “We’re just browsing” then stormed out whispering who knows what under their breath. Then as I watched people walking through the mall on Saturday, I was shocked by how many just look unhappy. It is a sad state of affairs. So keep smiling your beautiful smile and don’t let the negativity bring you down!
