Savoury Cheese Bread & Butter Pudding. Happy Wednesday. Hello friends. So how are you today? Are you looking for a savoury treat to try out? A nice autumn light lunch or meal sides?

You may have tried sweet bread and butter pudding but have you also tried savoury cheese bread & butter pudding before?

Savoury Cheese Bread & Butter Pudding, anyone? This is an easy to follow recipe for a quick meal in around 1 hour. Also very tasty!

Savoury Cheese Bread & Butter Pudding

How To Make An Savoury Cheese Bread & Butter Pudding:

What is a savoury pudding? A pudding is usually sweet but not today. This is a savoury one that you can serve up for dinner instead. How nice!?

You Will Need:

1 loaf sourdough, sliced

1 jar cranberry sauce

150g kind of cheese, selection of your choice

Few sprigs of rosemary

3 eggs

500ml double cream

200ml milk

100g hard cheese e.g. cheddar, grated

How To Make Savoury Cheese Bread & Butter Pudding:

1.) Firstly, preheat the oven to 180°C. Arrange the bread slices horizontally in a deep baking tray and spoon in the cranberry sauce in between each slice of bread.

2.) Add the cheeses of your choice followed by some sprigs of rosemary.

3.) Whisk together the eggs, cream, milk and grated cheddar cheese and carefully pour over the bread.

4.) Allow the bread to soak up the mixture for a few minutes.

5.) Bake for 45 mins or until set with a golden brown crust and allow the pudding to rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.

6.) Last but not least, garnish with a few additional spoonful’s of cranberry sauce and rosemary sprigs.

    Hi Claire, love this take on a bread and butter pudding. I've never heard of a savory version before but why not? A tangy cheese like a mature Chedder would go well with cranberries. It would probably go well with a nice green salad (it's making me hungry!).xx
