Schools Cross Country

Today is the first of the Autumn/Winter schools cross country races. My son has ran them before he really enjoys them and knows what to expect. My daughter is only just beginning to get into running and it will be her first ever cross country race.

A mile and a quarter is a long way when you have to run your fastest!! I am sure she will love it though!?

Over the last few years I have really got out of running. Can you believe I am nervously waiting for news on my London Marathon place then!? I think I am nervous because if I get in, I know how much training I will have to do.Something to well and truly would get me back into running if I got in…. Methinks so anyway!!

My son and daughter on the other hand have been our running, they have ran everyday this year so far. Their New years goals are still going strong. My sons, New Year goals has been going on for a few years now! How amazing are they doing? I wish I could keep to a run streak going. I always get ill though. Then before Iknow it, I have had a week off.

This week has been a hard week training for us all. I have got back into running, we did Parkrun last Saturday. Just joined up a running club and all done training Tuesday and Thursday so tired legs all around! Go us!!

I really hope they both enjoy their race today.

We took these pictures at the Olympic Park. Love it here.

My mini champions In London at the Olympic Park.

But first time for a selfie!!

It makes you want to be a good runner when we visit this place. So inspiring. If only.

How cool is this big circled mirror!? A selfie with us all in it.

Hacveyouever visited The Olympic Park?

Linking up our outdoor fun with Coombe Mill.

See you there.

I am so jealous of them! I loved running at school and loved cross country matches, but since leaving school I have never got back into it (bar the year after having my second child when I ran the London Marathon). I hope they have a great cross country year! #CountryKids

Love the photos in the Olympic Park – especially the one in the mirror, what a great shot. Hope all went well with the cross country running and good luck for you with getting a place for the marathon. #countrykids

Ah I think I need to join a running club. I run quite regularly but onlyif the weather is good! Running in company is so much more motivating. I'm super impressed with yur kids and running everyday, well done to them, it's a great thing for older kids to do and the park runs sound very social too. Love the Olympic photos, they are so striking. Thank yu for sharing with me on #CountryKids

Thanks Fiona. I do love being part of a team again, even though I am at the back 🙂

It's amazing that your son and daughter have run every day so far this year! I ran the Cheltenham half marathon last Sunday and today will be my first day back to running – Parkrun of course! Well done to you on joining a running club 🙂
