The Dress That Keeps Getting Compliments

The Dress That Keeps Getting Compliments: Over 40 Style. Hello friends 👋 happy Tuesday. So how is your week going so far?

A few last days off for me and it is back to work again later. Apart from Thursday, I will be at work every day until Monday as it is my long weekend to work 🙁

The Dress That Keeps Getting Compliments:

So after nearly two years of working in a supermarket, I have never got used to working weekends. So glad it is only every other weekend. Not a fan of working weekends, are you? I loved red and this is one of my favourite dresses from last year.

Whenever I wear it on a day out I always get strangers coming over and saying how much they love my dress, where is it from? Etc.

Receiving a compliment can be a wonderful way boost to your self-esteem and confidence. Can’t it? But do you like me, get embarrassed with compliments?

I’ve even seen women pointing at me saying oh wow, look at her dress, isn’t it beautiful. So this is the first time I’ve got it out this year.

How To Receive Compliments Graciously:

Here are some tips on how to receive compliments graciously:

Firstly, Thank You. A quite simple one that I always say is “Thank you”. When someone compliments you, respond with a simple “thank you.” All that is needed if you want to get on with your day and not stand talking. This also acknowledges the compliment and shows appreciation for the person who gave it to you. Nice and simple. The person who gave it to you would be happy you replied too. Making you both feel good.

Secondly, Smile. A smile can go a long way in by showing your appreciation for the compliment you received. Try to smile and make eye contact with the person who complimented you, despite any feelings of shyness or embarrassment you may be experiencing.

Thirdly, Return The Favour. Return the favour the person who gave you a compliment or someone else. Pay it forward: If someone complements you, you should do the same by complimenting them. This creates a positive and encouraging environment. Pop a smile on someone else’s face. Pass it on 🙂

Fourthly, Don’t Downplay A Compliment. Try not to divert attention. Resist the impulse to minimise or downplay the compliment in order to do so. Don’t say, “Well, it’s just something I threw on,” for instance, if someone compliments your outfit. Instead, gratefully accept the compliment.

Finally, remember that when someone complements you, it’s because they actually like something about you. It shows that you have self-confidence and grace in yourself to accept compliments.

Walk In The Woods With My Daughter. Not so mini-me had a lovely walk out to the woods and it was lovely and peaceful. Not anyone around to bother us and everyone keeping their distance. It was lovely. A few hours later I went shopping. That is where I got the compliment, in the supermarket!! Off the guy on the self-scan. ” you look striking in that red dress” ha.. This dress never lets me down.

Creativity And Inspiration All-Around. Love all the creativeness in the woods. We see painted rocks, wooden tepees and all kind of fun things. Someone even made a sea-saw. Does anyone fancy a go?

Ha, how cool?

Smile For The Photographer. My daughter took a few photos with her camera as she is learning more about photography.

She still has not shown me them as she is keeping them secret for a while. Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing!!

So Do You Have Some Flattering Clothing That Always Get’s Noticed? Do you have an item of clothing that always gets you compliments?

Compliments, Do They Make You Feel Good Or Uncomfortable? For me, I think it depends on who said it. If someone genuinely likes my dress then it makes me feel good.
