Vinyl Record Day: Do You Own Any Records? And If So Which Ones? Vinyl Record Day. Hello friends, so how are you today? Welcome back to this weeks Creative Monday Linky Party.
Did you know today is #VinylRecordDay
Today Is Vinyl Record Day Do You Own Any Vinyl Records?
Vinyl Record Day: Do You Own Any Records? And If So Which Ones? Back in the 80’s I used to collect records. I loved buying them. I use to go out with my pocket money over the weekend and treat myself to a record. You really though you had spent your money wisely as the were so big to carry home and a 12-inch single was only a few pounds.
A few years later I discovered car boot sales and you could pick hundreds of 7-inch records up for about 20p so I did end up with a great collection. Them days you could also pick the old jukebox ones up with the middles missing for a few pence and have a piece to add into them so you could play them. Good old days!!
Then I moved onto cassettes, and then CD’s and I eventually got rid of all my records as time moved on. Why did I do that!! I would love that collection now!! A few years ago I got to review a suitcase turntable so I treated myself to a few records. Not so cheap nowadays so I only own 2 but a great two!!
Firstly, Pulp: Different Class:
Love Different Class album from Pulp. One of my all time favourite albums. I remember Loving Disco 2000 and asking for it to be played when we went out also thinking that year is miles away. Now were 19 years after it!! Crazy how time flies.
All the songs are my favourite but Common People is such a classic ad Mollie howls to this song as she loves it too!!!
Secondly, Robbie Williams: The Heavy Entertainment Show:
Always loved Robbie Williams since he left Take That and released Angels. I have owned all his albums over the years on CD. I bought his latest LP when I got my record player. Love My Life! Yes I do 🙂
I would love Pink’s album; The Truth About Love, A Star Is Born Soundtrack album by Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga and the amazing Meatloaf’s Bat Out Of Hell albums if I ever get anymore as these are 3 more of my favourites. Check out my Pin Story.

Aww, that is lovely Nancy. I would loved to see my old collection right now 🙂
I remember vinyl records; my sister and I used to listen to Starship’s We Built This City over and over again until I had ALL the lyrics memorized. Though by the time I was buying my own music it was definitely cassettes and then Cd’s.

Oh wow, what a great song. I need to listen to this one again now 🙂
I love vinyl, we had the boys last album done on vinyl. It is seeing a true comeback and the sound is so fun. You need more albums

Oh wow, that is cool, Linda. Yes I do need to buy some more 🙂
I have a lot of vinyl from back in the day that I listen to at home. Love my vinyl. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful Monday.

I wish I still had all mine!
I have a crate of old vinyl and we’ve gone through them a bit since I got my husband a turntable. It’s fun to take them out and listen to them, read the liner notes and just remember the good old days!

Fun times 🙂 Thanks Heather.
How time has changed! I remember records though I didn’t really have the chance to use them. I grew up on cassette tapes and CDs. I still have CDs though my son is now growing up with streaming and MP3 players. I am so glad you got two of your favorite records, they are so priceless these days. I hope you had a great weekend and happy Monday!

Thanks Maureen. I loved having all the different ways to play music when I was young.
When I was little I would play my Cher albums over and over again on my little turntable. My daughter has recently started a vinyl collection. Her brother bought her a suitcase record player and she has a nice little collection started with some Elton John, Cher, Journey and of course Taylor Swift.

Thanks for linking up Marilyn, sounds tasty 🙂
What a cool post, Claire! I was in a record store while I was on vacation this summer and I couldn’t get over the smell of nostalgia! It was the coolest place. It smelled like an old library (which is one of my favorite aromas ever) and I just got lost in there for quite some time!

Thanks Tamar 🙂
I still have a box of vinyl but nothing to play it on! Mine is mostly 80’s R&B, Luther Vandross, Alexander O’Neil etc with some Jazz and Two tone stuff too (coming from Cov that’s a must!) plus the old Paul Young and Wham 7 inch thrown in there too!

Oh wow, sounds like a great collection Julie. Loved Wham 🙂
