It is no secret that losing weight in your 40’s is hard work. It is a big surprise when you find out you have gained weight over the last few month though!
I am not a fan of weighting myself regular; but now I have weighted myself, I dislike it even more!
I run, I bike and I go to the gym but I have still put on 10lb of weight over the last few months.
What!? How!? Why!?When!?

Over the last 10 years I have been lucky with my weight. All was good for me when I started running. Around 12 years ago. It took a while for the weight that I gained having 4 children to drop off. Eventually I lost weight. I was thinner than I was in my early teenage years. Yes lighter than the age of 13.
This made me feel good about my weight and myself. I kept running, I ate whatever I wanted. I stayed the same weight. Easy!
Now something has changed. Guess I am getting older and I still like to eat lots of food. Maybe I I have got lazier with my fitness regain!?

Being a stay at home mum means I can eat whenever I like. I usually wake up around 7 am. I have 2 slices of jam or honey on toast for 1st breakfast. Walk/run with Mollie by 9 am. Have 2nd breakfast, time for cereal and milk. Then 3rd breakfast around 11am. Maybe a smoothie or poached egg on toast. Not forgetting a cup of tea and some biscuits throw in before noon. I guess 3 breakfasts a day is not working for me any more. I also snack throughout the day leaving me full for dinner too.

Lately I have been trying on some of my pretty dresses and they are getting to tight 🙁
Not to mention all my jeans and jeggings no longer fit me. I now realise something has to be done!!
I am still chasing my dream Parkrun under 25 minutes time too for the end of the year.

I am now trying to change my routine.
Wake up and just had a coffee before running with Mollie.
Then home for breakfast something healthier like poached egg on toast.
A run to the gym and a salad for lunch.

Hopefully this will shift my weight gain in 5 weeks so I can fit comfortable in my dresses again in time for Brit Mums Live..

Why!?

You actually look fab, nice blog to read and nice to link up. Jacquiwww.mummabstylish.com
I sympathise entirely, and for everyone who I'm sure tells you you look amazing (because you do!) only you know how you feel and if you're happy! So good for you for recognising you want to do something and I know you'll do brilliantly Xx #FitnessTuesday
First – I love this shirt you're wearing. Wonderful color, and you look much(!) younger than 40.As for the weight – I know the feeling….I received a while back some medicine (right after I destroyed my ankle) that caused to gain fluid. It drove me nuts. But I felt much better with the medicine….
You look great! I am getting close to 40 and I'm noticing that it is harder to keep my weight where I want it the older I get. I need to get back into working out regularly too.
You look amazing honey, but I know what you mean. Even a little weight gain can make you feel rubbish about yourself. Good luck trying to shift it, I'm sure you'll be back to your best soon. xx
Dont worry …you look great anyway!!!
I am feeling the same but eating nowhere near as much! My downfall though is eating in the evenings and snacking. I exercise 5 days a week but I've put on about 8lbs in recent months. The big 4-0 is looming for me as well. Perhaps it's a metabolism thing? Certainly though if I ate three breakfasts, I'd struggle with weight. Are you genuinely hungry for all three? The only problem I have exercising before food is that I feel like I don't have as much oomf.
Congrats on being shortlisted! You still look good to me!
You look great!
You look wonderful!! Focus on being strong!
Where have you pit it on??? Anyway, no need to say you look very slim, but I know what you mean, only you know what feels right for you, and good luck with your challenge! I bet you will ace it! I have been on 5:2 diet since January, not with the aim to lose weight actually but to lead a more helathy lifestyle, and lately have seen a massive change in my body, all my clothes are almost falling off me. I still do all my fitness routines as previously, but eating under 500Kcal 2 days a week seems to be working great for me. See you at Britmums live! x
Hi Mirka, aww thank you for the lovely comment. I have put it on around the tummy and bum lol. Like you says, you know yourself when you have gained weight. I just want to feel comfortable in my clothes again so hopefully not too long! I have been getting out running again, yeah 🙂
