Lacework Hoodwinked 2018 Robin Trail In Nottingham

Lacework Hoodwinked 2018 Robin Trail In Nottingham And My Red & Blue Outfit Inspiration. A Flashback Friday And Welcome To Fashion By Claire Justine.

Flashback Friday: Welcome To The Weekend #LinkUp. Welcome To The Weekend Link Up Lovelies. So how are you today?

I set off with my camera, coffee in hand, and a bright outfit I’d been excited to wear: a bold blue dress layered with a red kimono-style jacket. Little did I know, I’d end up matching one of the robins perfectly.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you have fun at this week’s linky party.

Happy Friday Friends. Welcome To The Weekend Link Up. I hope you have had a lovely week? So, are you all ready for the weekend?

Have you ever stumbled upon street art that accidentally matched your outfit? That’s exactly what happened to me on the Lacework Hoodwinked 2018 Robin Trail in Nottingham.

One of the colourful robin sculptures popped with the same bold red shades I was wearing and of course, I had to stop for photos!

I am really not well today so I have had to grab some photos from my drafts which were taken last year in Nottingham.

The cold I mentioned on Wednesday has really settle in and I feel really poorly. I am so dizzy, headache-y, sore throat and shaking with cold. All I want to do is sleep but so many things need to be done.

Today I am going to try and rest as much as possible before work later and I will hopefully be well enough to catch up with you all over the weekend.

When you are not feeling well it really does make you appreciate the good days and make you want to enjoy everyday.

It has also made me realised I need to be better at time management on my blog so I do not have so many things to do at once too.

What Was The Hoodwinked Robin Trail?

Back in 2018, Nottingham was sprinkled with over 30 giant robin sculptures as part of the Hoodwinked: A Twist on the Tale public art trail.

Each robin was painted by a different artist, bringing colour and creativity to the city streets.

Locals and tourists alike followed maps to hunt them down like a giant, family-friendly treasure hunt.

The Lacework robin was one of my favourites, but I did love them all, standing proud and patterned in eye-catching detail.

How I Styled My Red & Blue Outfit:

For this little adventure, I wanted something comfortable but still colourful (because let’s be honest street art makes the best backdrop for outfit photos!).

Blue dress: A breezy, go-to favourite.

Red kimono-style jacket: The pop of colour that tied everything together.

Simple flats: Walking-friendly but still chic.

Minimal accessories: The robins were bold enough. I let them shine.

The surprise? My outfit mirrored one of the robin’s designs almost exactly.

It was like we’d planned a colour-coordinated photoshoot.

Colt Blue Dress And Red Shoes:

How good together? Over 40 Style.

So What I Wore:

  • Colt Blue Dress: Asda
  • Red Handbag: T K Maxx
  • Red Shoes: Primark

A Bird In The Hand:

Sixth, A Bird In The Hand #Hoodwinked2018.

Theme: The sculpture features a robin nestled in a hand, symbolising care and connection.

This particular robin had such a warm, friendly design. The colours stood out beautifully against the city backdrop, making it a perfect photo stop.

Over the last few days, I have kept nipping into Nottingham to find some more of the robins on the #Hoodwinked2018 trails.

I stopped for a while as I got stuck looking for no.5!

On the map, the picture looks like it is on Collin Street outside the Broadmarsh centre but it is actually inside. I saw a photo on Instagram and I clicked on where it was.

Eek time is running out too, as they are only in Nottingham for a few more weeks.
