When To Put Up Your Christmas Tree?

24/11/2017 Welcome To The Weekend Blog Hop. A week today our Christmas tree will go up. We are just deciding if we should buy a nice big real tree this year or stick to our 6ft artificial one? Do you put a Christmas tree up? Is your Christmas Tree up yet? Do you put it up on the 1st of December or do you wait till nearer Christmas?

The Christmas Forest: Christmas Tree Review

When To Put Up Your Christmas Tree? Depending on personal preference, cultural, and religious customs may influence when you put up your Christmas tree.

As a way to start the holiday season, many individuals decide to set up their Christmas tree on the first weekend in December. When to put up your Christmas tree ultimately depends on you and what feels appropriate for your family. Some choose to put it up early in the season so they can enjoy it as long as they can, while others prefer to wait until closer to Christmas Day so they can make their home feel more festive.

The Christmas tree is often put up in the US following Thanksgiving, which is observed on the fourth Thursday of November.

24/11/2017 Welcome To The Weekend Blog Hop

I really wish I had wrapped the Christmas lights up properly last year! So far this week I spent 3 hours trying to untangle them and then they broke. A few wires slipped out with all the pushing and pulling. So I chucked them. It is better to be safe with Christmas tree lights, isn’t it? Plus we have had them for years and years. Trouble is now, I have to buy more. Grr.

We wait until December to put our tree up. Last year we had a real one but we're getting an artificial one this year – I get fed up with pine needles everywhere!Emma xxx

Our tree and all our Christmas decorations went up yesterday. We always decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving here. We have a fake tree. We tried having a real tree the first few years in this home (like we used to get every year in our old home) but found that this house just has waaay to many windows that a real tree dries out long before Christmas actually arrives. The last year we had a fake tree I don't think there was one single needle left on it by the time we got it out into the yard the day after Christmas and I swore I'd never do that again. We went right out that very day and bought a huge fake tree with lights attached for 1/2 price and loved it. I love the ease of just plugging it in and putting on ornaments and that $70 or so that we spent was well worth it as the tree lasted us a good 10 years! I do love that smell though and miss having the experience of bundling up and heading to the tree farm.

I actually put up my tree in Georgia at our cabin in October, just because that's the last time I would be there before the Christmas holiday. We typically spend Christmas there. That's super early for me, and I would never do it that early in Florida, where I live full time. I use an artificial tree with lights built in. I did buy a real tree here in Florida back in 2015 and loved it. We were just at Lowe's tonight, and they had real trees. I have to admit that the smell was so wonderful, it made me want one. However, I will likely just put up some wreaths here in Florida. Thanks for hosting the link up!

Aw, those dresses are too cute. We don't have a tree up yet. We tend to put one up closer to Christmas because we get a real tree and we like to have it for as long as we can AFTER the holidays. :)-Laurenwww.shootingstarsmag.net

I will wait until next weekend. I always feel like I should wait until it's at least December to put it up. Autumn is suck a quick season for us, and I want to make it last as long as possible. Love the picture from the gift guide.

Tree goes up about a week before Christmas (and comes down on New Year's Day). I've always had artificial ones, they last so long that arguments about eco and green are null and void πŸ™‚

    • 24 November 2017 / 10:19

Thanks Gail. We have always had artificial ones too. Ever year I say I would like a real on but we never get around to it. What I would love is one with a root on so we could grow it in our garden afterwards πŸ™‚

We normally put our tree up the first weekend in December but the last couple years it has been earlier. I'm thinking of doing it next week, perhaps during the week…What fun Christmas dresses! They look fantastic! I've shared a new recipe this week – Chocolate and Cranberry Loaf. It's really easy to make, and it's a healthier cake due to a secret ingredient you can't see or taste…but that makes it super moist and absolutely addictive! Thank you so much for hosting, Claire, and I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Thanks April. We like our tree up nice and early too πŸ™‚ Hoping over now to read your post.
