Why You’ll Love These Cookies:

Makes 18 small cookies.
What You Need:
- 100g (4 oz) Unsalted Or Salted Butter or Margarine
- 50g (3 oz) Soft Brown Sugar
- 25g Sugar
- 2 tbsp Syrup
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 175g (6oz) Self raising flour
- Pinch of salt if unsalted butter
- 100g (4oz) Smarties or M&M chocolates plus extra for toppings
- 2 tbsp Milk
What To Do:
- Heat the oven to 180c, 350f or gas mark 4. Grease 2 baking trays.
- Beat the butter with both sugars until pale and fluffy. This step gives cookies their soft texture.
- Mix with a spoon the self raising flour, syrup, vanilla extract, salt them add the Smarties and the milk. Gently stir them in so they don’t crack too much.
- Place 18 spoonful’s of the mixture onto the trays. Roll tablespoons of dough into balls and place on a lined baking tray.
- Chilling for 15–20 minutes helps prevent spreading.
- Bake for 10- 13 minutes.
- Take from the oven and light press down with a flat fish slice and remove from the tray to cool.
- Leave to cool 10 minutes but not too long as but great whilst still warm.
