National Take A Walk In The Park Day. Hello friends, happy Wednesday. So how are you today?
Did you also know that today is National Take A Walk In The Park Day?
I love getting out on a walk and one of the many things I missed when I lost my beautiful dog Mollie, was getting out on walks every day.
We use to go to the park every day. Most walks lasted at least an hour too. They all stopped when Mollie died. It’s not as fun walking on your own. No one to chuck a ball or frisbee to. No one to talk to!

Is today, National Take A Walk In The Park Day? Yes it is.
When is National Take A Walk In The Park Day? 30th March each year.
How long should I walk a day? Try doing 10 minutes and then increase it slowly. Until you get to the time you want to reach.
National Take A Walk In The Park Day:
On National Take a Walk in the Park Day, we honour the ancient art of putting one foot in front of the other while pretending to be outdoorsy.
It’s the one day a year when even the most committed couch potatoes venture into the wilderness, AKA the local city park, armed with a water bottle and an enthusiasm for nature that lasts approximately 15 minutes. Well for me it does.
We strut through the park like we’re on a mission to discover the lost city of Atlantis, but in reality, we’re just hunting for a conveniently placed bench to take a strategic “rest.”
It’s a day when squirrels become our spirit animals, gracefully darting around, and we try to keep up, dodging imaginary obstacles like invisible parkour champions.
So, grab your walking shoes, slap on some SPF for that blinding sunlight, and embark on a journey through the urban jungle – because on this day, everyone’s a wild adventurer, even if it’s just to find the nearest ice cream truck.
Walkies With Murphy:
Now I have Murphy, the walks have started back up and we get out on two walks, every day. Not too far at the minute, or too fast but about 20 minutes, each time we go out.
Murphy is growing bigger by the day so our walks will soon be very long. I am guessing to tire him out.
Murphy has started to love walkies. He now knows what to expect. He did just sit on the street at first, just looking around. Now he knows he might see some other dogs and rushes up to the park, straight away.
Also, Murphy loves other dogs, even though a few have gone for him as they do not like doddle hugs which he seems to give other dogs.

I’ve never heard of National Walk in the Park day, Claire! But I guess that’s because I’ve lived in Portugal most of my life. We don’t really have parks here like you do in the UK, maybe in Lisbon, perhaps? I’m loving your photos—they’re beautiful and colourful! Murphy looks like such a happy little soul.

What a fun walk in the park Claire! Murphy is so cute and such a cool companion. Definitely a plus when going to walks or other things. On my end, my son is a bit under the weather so we weren’t able to do our normal park date this week but perhaps we can make up for it this weekend?!
