Queen Of Hearts Jam Tarts:
Secondly, Queen Of Hearts Jam Tarts.
No Alice in Wonderland roundup would be complete without the Queen of Hearts!
The Queen famously had her tarts, so why not make traditional jam tarts the star of your Wonderland table?
Serve them on a pretty vintage plate or cake stand and decorate the table with Playing Cards* scattered around and little red hearts.
These buttery, flaky jam tarts are inspired by the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland, making them a perfect tea party treat.
They’d make such a lovely sweet addition to an afternoon tea spread.
You can find the Queen of Hearts-Inspired Jam Tart idea in my Alice In Wonderland Inspired Afternoon Tea post.
However, in the poem, it is suggested that the tarts were stolen, not by the Queen, but by the Knave of Hearts.
The opening lines of the poem are as follows:
The Queen of Hearts, She made some tarts, All on a summer’s day; The Knave of hearts, He stole those tarts, And took them clean.
So, while the Queen is associated with the making of the tarts in the rhyme, it is the Knave who is responsible for the theft. How dare he!?

Cheshire Cat-Inspired Sandwiches:
Thirdly, Cheshire Cat-Inspired Sandwiches.
If your planning a whimsical afternoon tea party, why settle for ordinary sandwiches. You can turn your table into a little wonderland of your own.
Every tea party needs sandwiches, and these can easily be given a Wonderland makeover.
For a Cheshire Cat-inspired plate, try making little finger sandwiches and cutting them into fun CAT shapes.

For an extra whimsical touch, cut them into heart shapes, diamonds or playing card shaped.
The Most Whimsical Strawberry Sandwiches:
Fourthly, The Most Whimsical Strawberry Sandwiches.
Now this one really does look like it has fallen straight out of Wonderland!
These Strawberry Sandwich For An Alice In Wonderland Afternoon Tea is not actually a savoury sandwich at all.
While they may look like white bread spread with butter and filled with salad they are actually made with thinly sliced white chocolate cake.
Instead, it is made using thinly sliced white chocolate cake, white chocolate ganache flavoured with chamomile tea, chocolate “grass”, fresh strawberries, mint and strawberry jam.
It looks like a sandwich but is actually a wonderfully indulgent sweet treat.
Perfect for confusing your guests in true Wonderland fashion!
Picture yourself enjoying these elegant sandwiches while sipping tea from delicate China cups at a nicely arranged table beneath the shade of a towering tree.

Eighth, Cheshire Cat’s Triple Berry Smoothies.
Who says a tea party has to be all about tea?
For a colourful Cheshire Cat-inspired drink, serve a Triple Berry Smoothie in little glasses with a “Drink Me” label.
The vibrant berry colour makes it perfect for a fantastical Wonderland table, and smaller glasses would work particularly well alongside the cakes and sandwiches.
So why not try making lighter layers in between to look like the cat, himself!
The Triple Berry Smoothie is featured as a Cheshire Cat-inspired drink in my Wonderland afternoon tea ideas.
Afternoon Cherry Scones:
Ninth, Afternoon Cherry Scones.
Of course, we need scones!

Eleventh, Earl Grey And Clotted Cream Cheesecake.
And finally, something that feels particularly appropriate for a tea party: Earl Grey And Clotted Cream Cheesecake.
Earl Grey tea and afternoon tea go hand in hand, so combining those flavours with creamy cheesecake makes this a lovely centrepiece dessert.
It would look beautiful decorated with fresh berries and served alongside vintage teacups.
The Earl Grey And Clotted Cream Cheesecake is another recipe featured in my Alice-inspired afternoon tea ideas. So yummy.
