Day Out In Sheffield: Throwback Thursday. Happy Thursday friends. So travel is a big no-no here in the UK, with lock-down again.
It also has me looking through old photos of when we were allowed to travel and dreaming of place I will be visiting again, once lockdown is over.
Day Out In Sheffield: Throwback Thursday:
So today I am re-sharing some photos from a day out in Sheffield taken around November 2017. Over the half-term school holiday, we took a nice family train ride to Sheffield town centre. (Sheffield is a city in the English county of South Yorkshire).
It has been a few years since we last visited Sheffield town centre, although we have been to Meadowhall in Sheffield plenty of times. So many pretty waterfalls to see in Sheffield, like the one behind me in the photo above.
You might also remember Sheffield being called the ‘Steel City’ for its reputation for steel production in the 19th century.
I always want to visit Sheffield when I watch The Full Monty! The film itself is set around the steel industry and how they all move on after losing their jobs. The cooling towers on the film are no longer there though.
I remember the big stainless steel bull statue just before the turn off for Meadowhall in Sheffield too. I always wonder what happened to it!?
Family Time:
Me and mini-me having some selfie fun on the train. Love taking train rides out with my family, I so miss these days.
Every time we go on the train, my Daughter says I am famous as I am on all their posters. The one behind me, she means!!
So Cheeky!! Me!? Eh!? Ha!
This is such a beautiful waterfall behind me. Just outside the train station in Sheffield. Such a lovely place to walk around.
Strike a pose!! Love this photo as it was taken in-between my photos when I was not ready and looking away from the sun. So a natural photo.
