Last week as I had been ill, the Husband got to run Parkrun again. Me and my daughter go to cheer them on and held their coats for them. Mollie also came along for the walk but all she ready wants to do is run with them.
Coats: check
Wellies: Check
Hats and gloves: Check
It is still really cold first thing.
Waiting for the race to start so we can walk around the course to cheer the boys on. Mollie focusing on my son, hoping he shouts her over for a run!? Bless her. She really wanted to join in the fun.
Here is me holding my Sons jacket too. Outfit layering eh!? Coats on top of coats could be the next big thing? Well, I could not complain I was cold now, could I!?
My son is usually way in front of his dad. Last week he was not feeling it when running. Maybe he had a late night. Maybe he wanted to stay in bed but after the run he said he just could not get going today.
Lap 3 of the 3 lap course he was still behind his dad. Oh no! I can imagine what he was thinking! I felt for him, if his dad wins him he will be so mad! You can see in his face he was not happy.
Then with about 200 meters before the finish, he upped his game. He went speeding by his dad and overtook anyone in his way. All the way to the finish line.
Happy faces at the end, especially from my son. They are both on a mission now to be the fastest. Lots of training going on by both of them. I wish I had some of their enthusiasm and speed!!

Aww, fathers and sons, eh? I hope you're feeling much better now X #whatevertheweather
I love how committed your son is to running, he really has found his 'thing' and is practicing so hard to be the best he can. It must have been annoying to be behind his dad, but having someone to compete against isn't always a bad thing. Well done to him finding his final wind and wining against his dad at the end. Thanks for linking up to #Whatevertheweather π x
I love the layers on layers. It's so impressive how dedicated your son is to running. It's so amazing he has a hobby he is dedicated to and passionate about. Hooray for winning. It's always good to be challenged and running with someone else always helps. Thank you so much for sharing with #whatevertheweather xx
Mollie is adorable! So great you're exercising together. It is even better that you were able to take these healthy habits and transfer them to your kids. I must admit I'm not much of a runner, but I do a lot of walking…and now that the weather has improved I do a lot of hiking.
Its so nice that they are bonding through running! #countrykids
Aww, thank you. Something they both love doing π
Well done your boy & man. heheheMollie is getting so big now π
Thanks Kim π
Well done, men!
Thanks Tamar π
It's great that your son and husband both enjoy doing the park run and are willing to sacrifice a Saturday morning lie in to take part. I know how your son felt having an off day, sometimes you're just not really in the mood for it, it's great he found the motivation to push himself past his dad at the end though otherwise I'm sure you would've had a moody teen on your hands for the rest of the day. It's great it's inspired a little friendly competition between the boys in the house, let's see if it really motivates them! Thanks for linking up with me on #CountryKids.
Thanks for hosting and stopping by Fiona. They are both on a mission now and both upped their game. Both did great today again π
That's brilliant, well done to your son! I know exactly how he feels. Last week my husband said he was going to beat me – it forced me to smash my PB by 44 seconds! I'm now sub-24 minutes π
Thanks for stopping by Sarah! Aww you are doing great, I'm just recovering from flu so back on with my new goal π
