Such a lot of fun ideas Claire, I used to make the kids cakes with green food colouring in them when they were little and we’d call them mouldy cakes but nothing as cute and fun as these ideas!

At what age would you recommend trying to bake with your child for the first time? My son’s 2nd birthday is approaching and he loves to sit on a chair and watch me bake and I would love to have his help. But I am just not sure he is ready.

    • 27 October 2019 / 16:47

Hi Erica. Yes if I was you I would wait a bit longer. Getting kids helping is fun but I would just wait a while yet. Talking him through what you are putting into the cakes is good at this age, helping him learn different ingredients. I use to give my Daughter a little bit of the mixture to play with and she had her own rolling pin but she was about 5 years old then.
